What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

Support all aspects of managing Coinbase Ventures liquid token portfolio, including:
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of our investment holdings, staying abreast of product developments, major network updates, and evolving tokenomics
- Assisting in the execution and documentation of all crypto asset operations including the review, approval, execution, and reconciliation for onchain activity for monthly and quarterly reporting
Conduct in-depth thematic research and data-driven analysis to inform investment decisions and identify emerging trends within the crypto ecosystem.
Design, evaluate, and execute onchain strategies to optimize portfolio performance with a clear articulation of risk and reward (e.g. staking, liquidity provisioning, lending, etc.)
Drive new liquid token investments by constructing robust, long-term investment theses on the token/protocol
Be an external presence in the crypto ecosystem, building connective tissue with founders, investors, and technical subject matter experts
Drive select special projects to continually improve and upgrade Coinbase Ventures operational platform and processes (i.e., “firm building”)

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

3+ years of experience in a highly analytical business role (e.g., investment banking, management consulting, VC/PE) focused on emerging technologies AND/OR technical building role (e.g., product, engineering) in crypto
Hands-on experience in crypto (i.e. building, trading, onchain yield strategies, etc) with a deep understanding of token value accrual mechanics / tokenomics
Demonstrated passion and understanding across the crypto landscape with strong points of view and emerging investment judgment
Excellent writing skills and ability to distill complex topics into clear, easy to understand messaging
Excellent organizational, analytic, problem solving, and communication skills
Affinity to network, develop ecosystem relationships, and publish thought leadership / content
Experience working with startup management teams and cross-functional execs, including product, engineering, legal, and financ

Nice to haves:

Proven experience in a role focused on crypto asset management, portfolio management, or investment analysis
Experience evaluating infrastructure or consumer/application layer products and business models (crypto or web2)
Experience at top-tier venture capital firm and/or crypto specific company
Investing experience is a plus
Data Analysis and/or Engineering experience, preferably in or with blockchains (e.g., faculty with Dune, Nansen, other blockchain data tools)

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Pay Range:

$135,320—$159,200 USD
