About the Team

DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager with strong product sense to oversee building out fulfillment strategies and merchant solutions, focused on New Verticals of our Drive delivery-as-a-service business. This team is in charge of making big bets to enable DoorDash to think outside of the traditional food delivery box to unlock new opportunities, like groceries, convenience, pharmacy, alcohol and more.

About the Role

This highly cross functional team will focus on both 0 to 1 initiatives, as well as scaling mid-maturity businesses, to help unlock new merchant growth opportunities and earnings opportunities for our Dashers. The team’s charter spans mobile, backend and web components and involves problems like integrating with merchants, developing our fulfillment APIs and capabilities, improving our Dasher experience and pushing forward the frontier of our core fulfillment engines. The end goal is to do for last mile logistics what AWS did for cloud computing -- enable any third-party business to plug into our platform and have their items delivered, on-demand, anywhere in their city.

This team is based in Seattle, WA, and you will report into a Senior Engineering Manager within our Merchant organization.

• BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams (backend, web, & mobile) of 8+ engineers
• 8+ years of industry experience
• Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment
• Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
• Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition
• Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback
• Growth mindset - you're eager to expand your skill set and excited to carve out your career path in a hyper-growth setting
• Adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in ambiguity - things can change quickly, and you'll need to help the team evolve

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below.  Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.  For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.  Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.
