About the team + role
The Backend Platform team's mission is to enable fast, safe, and delightful backend development at scale.
As a Senior Software Engineer on Backend Platform, you will own impactful projects, accelerate developer velocity of all backend engineers at the company, and be responsible for setting the holistic direction of backend engineering at Robinhood.
What you’ll do
- Develop on reliable, scalable platforms and client libraries for Robinhood backend services.
- Manage dependencies and builds for backend ecosystems.
- Build frameworks and tools to empower delightful and productive workflows.
- Drive major migrations that improve the health and sustainability of our service codebases.
What you bring
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Proven experience working on large projects with long-term impact on a single system or team.
- Strong technical grasp with excellent judgment on task prioritization.
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems that deliver results aligned with team objectives.
- Ability to mentor junior developers and lead the team technically on new initiatives and system improvements.
- High credibility about technical standards and sustainable evolution of a sophisticated codebase.
- Prioritize and implement impactful initiatives to empower Robinhood's 500+ backend engineers.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed.
Base Pay Range:
