About the Role:

Documentation is an integral part of the product. Every user guide, release note or reference material that reaches a user reflects directly on the quality of our software. At Scality, we treat documentation with the same rigour we apply to code.

We are currently redefining the traditional technical writing for an AI-based, code-aware documentation environment.
Instead of producing static documentation as the final output, this role will help design, test, improve, and govern a documentation system where knowledge is generated from code, structured into reusable atomic components, and assembled for different audiences, channels, and use cases.
While, software engineers will build the underlying platforms, pipelines, and agentic workflows, this role will define what those systems need to do, evaluate whether they are doing it correctly, improve the quality of the generated knowledge, and ensure that AI-generated or AI-assisted documentation is accurate, useful, consistent, and safe.

Key Responsibilities

Implement the Knowledge Architecture and Content Strategy

  • Design and maintain a system of atomic, reusable knowledge components that can be assembled for different personas, purposes, and media.
  • Define how information should be presented based on the delivery channel:
  • Define information distribution channels based on detailed persona analysis and usage patterns.
  • Specify the information presentation requirements for each channel
  • Design and implement a robust content categorization and tagging system (taxonomy) that serves both end-users and documentation contributors who become personas in the context.
  • Manage Requirements for Agentic Documentation Systems
  • Translate documentation and knowledge needs into clear requirements for engineering teams building agentic documentation pipelines and the delivery channels including:
  • The construction of new delivery channels.
  • The implementation of a content framework that enables Engineering and Customer Success teams to autonomously contribute and update documentation articles for these channels.
  • Define expected behavior for agents that generate, transform, validate, assemble, or publish documentation.
  • Create acceptance criteria for agent outputs, including accuracy, completeness, clarity, traceability, tone, structure, and audience fit.
  • Identify where automation is appropriate and where human review, editorial control, or governance is required.
  • Drive the project planning for the transition from the current documentation model to the future one

  • Drive modernization initiatives for documentation tooling, publishing, and content governance.
  • Continue to support legacy technical documentation production, including writing, editing, reviewing, updating, and publishing traditional documentation deliverables.
  • Who We Are Looking For

    You bring

  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Strong exposure to technical writing, developer documentation, product documentation, or technical content strategy.
  • Good understanding of code, APIs, software architecture, technical workflows, and engineering discussions.
  • Experience with frontend web development and styling capabilities using CSS/SCSS with practical knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and React to write clean, reusable layout components
  • Ability to write clear requirements, acceptance criteria, test cases, and quality standards.
  • Experience reviewing, editing, testing, or validating AI-generated or semi-automated content.
  • Strong project management skills to lead significant organizational and technical change within the documentation process.
  • Must possess a strong grasp of user experience principles to design intuitive content consumption models.
  • Nice to have
  • Any exposure to file and object storage, as well as cloud storage solutions.
  • Experience working with engineers and product teams to document complex software systems.
  • Comfort working in docs-as-code environments, version control systems, issue trackers, and modern software development workflows.
  • French fluency for day-to-day work in a Paris-based team.
  • Curious and open-minded you have a good sense of humour
  • Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience using terminal-based agentic tools.
  • Experience with customer support knowledge, help centers, internal enablement, or developer portals.
