About This Opportunity:

We're looking for a WordPress developer who can build high-performance, responsive sites that drive results. You'll need experience with Gutenberg, ACF, and modern WordPress tools. We focus on mobile-first design, accessibility, and multi-language support. At Docebo, you'll work directly with developers, designers, and marketers to create cutting-edge website features. You'll solve development challenges and upgrade functionality across our design system, experimentation, translation, SEO, and analytics. We want someone who masters industry standards but pushes boundaries with new technologies. You'll deliver solutions that exceed expectations—with agility, usability, and quality as non-negotiables.

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and detail-oriented web developer with a strong background in WordPress and web performance optimization. You should possess excellent communication skills, thrive in collaborative environments, and have a proven ability to build scalable, user-friendly websites. With a keen focus on both the technical and creative aspects of web development, you’ll be able to execute flawless solutions that drive business impact.
Responsibilities:
  • WordPress Development & Customization: Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using Gutenberg, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and other modern tools to build dynamic, high-performance, and user-friendly sites.
  • Responsive & Mobile-First Design: Build responsive, mobile-first websites that perform seamlessly across all devices and browsers, ensuring an optimal user experience on any platform.
  • WebOps Process Management: Establish and maintain efficient WebOps processes, including agile sprint planning, version control with GitHub, and coordination with hosting providers to optimize performance, scalability, and deployment cycles.
  • SEO & Accessibility Optimization: Implement SEO best practices to optimize websites for search engines, including proper markup, fast-loading pages, and on-page optimization. Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards to make websites inclusive for all users.
  • Website Infrastructure Management: Oversee and manage website infrastructure, including optimizing databases, ensuring uptime, integrating APIs, and maintaining staging and deployment protocols for smooth site operations.
  • Performance & Engagement Optimization: Continuously enhance website performance and user engagement by implementing front-end tools such as chat widgets, pop-ups, and iterative A/B tests to improve conversion rates and site speed.
  • Custom Development & Integration: Create reusable Gutenberg blocks tailored to specific project needs, and work with third-party APIs and integrations to expand website functionality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with designers, content creators, and other developers to deliver pixel-perfect layouts and ensure smooth ContentOps workflows. Ensure a collaborative and iterative approach to feature development and optimization.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Use monitoring tools to track website performance, uptime, and load times. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, ensuring seamless website functionality.
  • Documentation & Workflow Maintenance: Document development processes, workflows, and best practices for internal and client use. Provide ongoing training and support to junior team members as needed.
  • Requirements:
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on web development experience, with a proven portfolio of WordPress projects that demonstrate your expertise in front-end and back-end development.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), PHP, TypeScript, and APIs. Expertise in WordPress development, including custom solutions, Gutenberg, ACF, and plugin integration.
  • Responsive & Mobile-First Development: Strong understanding of responsive design principles and frameworks, with the ability to create fluid, mobile-first layouts across a variety of devices and screen sizes.
  • Performance Best Practices: Familiarity with performance optimization techniques such as caching, lazy loading, and image compression.
  • Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and the ability to implement accessibility standards to ensure inclusive web experiences.
  • Version Control & Debugging: Experience using GitHub for version control, working in dual staging environments, and using debugging tools like Chrome Developer Tools and Query Monitor to troubleshoot and optimize websites.
  • Project Management & Collaboration: Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage timelines. Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with designers, content teams, and other developers.
  • WebOps & Continuous Improvement: Experience in WebOps processes, including implementing and managing workflows for testing, deployment, and maintenance of live websites.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with headless WordPress or integrating with REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with WordPress multisite setups and managing large-scale websites.
  • Experience in creating multilingual websites with plugins like WPML or Polylang.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript libraries such as React, Vue, or similar.
  • Experience with advanced WordPress integrations (e.g., eCommerce, CRM systems).
  • Everything You Need, One Platform.
