Job description

HackerRank helps companies like NVIDIA, Amazon, and Microsoft hire and upskill the next generation of developers based on skills, not pedigree. Our platform is trusted by over 2,500 of the world’s most innovative companies to build strong engineering teams ready for what’s next.

Software has entered an era where humans and AI build side by side. As this shift accelerates, the definition of strong technical talent is changing. We give companies better ways to identify and invest in next-generation skills.

People at HackerRank care deeply about the impact of their work and sweat the small details so our customers can be wildly successful with products they genuinely love to use. We move with urgency and believe great outcomes come from high standards

About the role

HackerRank’s coding challenge library is the foundation of how companies identify top technical talent. As a Technical Product Manager, you’ll drive the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of products that expand our skills coverage, raise content quality, and increase adoption among customers.

This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, design, and content. You’ll define product requirements, translate complex business and customer needs into scalable solutions, and partner with a global network of subject matter experts. You’ll also work closely with customers to shape workflows and ensure our assessments remain relevant, fair, and impactful for developers and hiring teams worldwide.

What you’ll do

  • Build and manage a global network of experts to create coding challenges.
  • Own the product roadmap for HackerRank’s coding challenge platform and content ecosystem.
  • Define product requirements and success metrics in collaboration with engineering and design.
  • Build and evolve tools that scale content delivery, improve quality, and support emerging technologies.
  • Partner with customers to deeply understand their workflows and deliver tailored solutions that drive adoption and impact.
  • Use data, automation, and AI to streamline content creation and review processes.
  • Ensure every product and feature shipped upholds high standards of fairness, validity, and developer experience.

Who you are

  • A product thinker with a strong technical foundation across frontend, backend, cloud, and DevOps (e.g., React, JavaScript, AWS, Docker, CI/CD).
  • Bring 5+ years of product or technical program experience in fast-paced environments, with at least 2 years in a customer-facing capacity.
  • Adept at working closely with engineers, speaking their language, and translating complex technical problems into clear product direction.
  • Comfortable using product and collaboration tools such as GitHub, JIRA, Slack, and analytics platforms.
  • Skilled at balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Even better if you have

  • Experience contributing to or building for developer ecosystems.
  • Exposure to open-source communities and technical content development.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven workflows for scaling product capabilities.

You’ll thrive in this role if

  • You’re a builder at heart, excited to create scalable systems from the ground up.
  • Ambiguity doesn’t slow you down - you bring clarity, structure, and crisp execution.
  • You care deeply about developer experience, customer impact, and raising the bar in technical hiring.
  • Collaboration energizes you, whether it’s with engineers, customers, or global experts.
