The Role
As a Security Systems Engineer at Palantir, you are responsible for implementing, designing, and maintaining the physical security systems that ensure the protection of Palantir’s people, assets, intellectual property, and reputation. You lead research and evaluations for the latest technology, security infrastructure, policies, procedures, systems, and applications, looking for easy-to-use capabilities that reduce button clicks and ultimately give time back to the operator. You will be collaborating with technical teams to develop and maintain end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery.
Your technical expertise is second only to your integrity and genuine passion for security and technology. As a member of the Global Security and Investigations team, you work with security professionals, architects, lawyers, and software and network engineers to deliver a safe and secure environment for your fellow employees. Palantir is a global company, so you'll lead physical security projects all over the world. You'll work hard to break down barriers between teams by communicating your knowledge and goals effectively across time zones and other physical and virtual barriers.

Core Responsibilities
Design and oversee the technical aspects of your projects from conception to full deployment.
Systems naturally break and need maintenance. You'll work with vendors and end users to find the best solutions for a problem, in the shortest possible time.
Leverage both system and software engineering skills in order to address the needs of all teams within Global Safety and Security.
Prepare and document standard operating procedures, protocols, and security standards.
Responsible for scheduling, testing, and implementing enhancements or new releases of server operating systems.
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for all project phases.
Regularly present project updates, status reports, and risk summaries to leadership.
Ensure that all deliverables meet internal security policies, regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS), and industry standards.
Validate that implemented security controls are effective and meet project goals before project closure.
Prioritize tasks across competing deadlines and manage scope changes gracefully.
What We Value
Experience supporting Global Security Operations Centers, offices, and remote outposts.
Strong engineering background, preferred in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics.
Active TS security clearance or willingness and eligibility to obtain a security clearance is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision in a rapidly changing environment.
Willingness and interest to travel up to 25% of the time, including to Palantir’s domestic and international offices as needed.
What We Require
5+ years' experience maintaining, installing, managing and problem-solving on security systems and related technologies. Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
Proficiency with enterprise Video Management Systems, enterprise Physical Access Control Systems, Intruder Detection Systems, Communication Systems, and security hardware.
Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
