Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 5 (Salaried)

Position Description:

The Center for Predictive Medicine seeks a Research Technician II to support a research laboratory that discovers and develops antiviral drugs.  The Research Technician II will coordinate recombinant production of protein reference standards and the monoclonal antibodies used to identify them.  This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and execution of research experiments.

  • Independently perform data acquisition and collect, collate, and analyze research experimental data.

  • Prepare data for publication and draft research papers and technical reports.

  • Perform critical analyses of literature relevant to research undertaken.  Assist in the preparation of technical reports, research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at conferences and workshops.

  • Assist in the review and revision of laboratory policies and procedures.

  • Participate in the planning and development of goals for the research project and laboratory. Assist in the establishment of test controls, criteria, and research standards.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience with immunological and histopathological analyses. 

  • Two or more years of experience working with recombinant protein production.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
