Job description
Help Accelerate Industrial Decarbonization

Join exceptional people from around the world to solve some of the world's toughest energy challenges, make a real impact, and enjoy the adventure of building the future of industrial decarbonization together.

As our Electrical Drive & Controls Engineer, you'll help bring our solar thermal technology to life by developing, integrating, testing, and maintaining the electrical drive and control systems behind our innovative collector technology.

Working alongside Mechanical, Structural and Software Engineers, you'll play a hands-on role in building prototypes, developing test benches, integrating electrical hardware with control software, and validating new solutions before they are deployed in industrial-scale projects.

Your Impact

The systems you build and test will directly improve the reliability, performance, and efficiency of GlassPoint's solar thermal technology.

By combining practical engineering with close collaboration across disciplines, you'll help ensure our innovations perform reliably in the laboratory, during testing, and ultimately in the field.

What You'll Do

Build & Integrate Electrical Systems

  • Support the development and integration of electrical drive systems for our solar thermal technology.
  • Install, wire, commission, and maintain electrical and control components for prototypes and engineering test benches.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Support Controls & Software Development

  • Work closely with software and controls engineers to develop and validate drive and control systems.
  • Integrate electrical hardware with control software for prototypes and test benches.
  • Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of drive and control systems during testing.
  • Assist with functional testing and validation to ensure reliable system performance.

Develop and Maintain Test Systems

  • Design, build, install, and maintain electrical systems for engineering test benches supporting the development and validation of our solar thermal components and subsystems.
  • Prepare and execute functional testing of electrical drives, control systems, and other electromechanical components.
  • Analyse test results and recommend improvements to system performance and reliability.

Collaborate Across Engineering

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to solve technical challenges.
  • Support prototype assembly, commissioning, and field testing where required.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, engineering standards, and continuous product improvement.

Who You Are

You're someone who enjoys getting hands-on with hardware and solving practical engineering challenges. You like building, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and continuously improving electrical systems, and you're comfortable working both in the workshop and alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience developing, integrating, and testing electrical drive and control systems in an industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience wiring, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validating electrical equipment and test systems.
  • Experience integrating electrical hardware with control software; experience developing or modifying basic control software is an advantage.
  • Experience with PLCs, servo drives, motion control systems, or industrial automation.
  • The ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, structured approach.
  • Fluency in English; German is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to suppliers and project sites.

What You'll Find at GlassPoint

  • Meaningful responsibility from day one and the opportunity to make a real impact.
  • Exceptional colleagues from diverse disciplines who challenge, support, and learn from each other.
  • Complex engineering challenges that require curiosity, collaboration, and innovation.
  • A highly collaborative environment where your work moves quickly from concept to real-world application.
  • Opportunities to grow your technical expertise through cross-functional projects and international collaboration.
  • The adventure of helping build the future of industrial decarbonization.

At GlassPoint, we believe that different perspectives drive innovation and strengthen our teams. We are committed to providing an inclusive working environment where everyone is treated with respect, feels valued, and has the opportunity to contribute their best work.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, ethnic or social background, nationality, religion or belief, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
