Job description

As Director of Content Services, EMEA, you will be a senior leader leading Broadcast, Events and Creative Content across Game Publishing and Esports with the ultimate goal of creating incredible player experience across the region.

You will define and implement the team’s evolving operating model and capabilities, lead change across functions and games, align leaders around difficult decisions and trade-offs, and translate strategy into clear priorities, effective ways of working, and measurable outcomes.

You will report into the General Manager for EMEA Publishing and Esports, and will partner closely with Global and other Regional craft leadership. You will also collaborate frequently with EMEA and Global leaders across Publishing, Esports, Product, Marketing, Communications, Technology and Operations. Together, you will ensure that our event and content ecosystem is player-focused, aligned with game and esports strategies, operationally excellent and adaptable to the needs of Riot’s games and audiences.

This role will be based in Berlin.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the future of EMEA Content Services. Develop and establish the operating model, capabilities, and investment priorities for Broadcast, Events and Creative Content in EMEA.
  • Provide strategic and operational direction. Manage the team across live competitions, events, production, and creative content, delivering incredible moments for players.
  • Build and lead a high-performing organization. Manage a multi-function team of Rioters and external partners.  Develop managers and own team health, engagement, inclusion, succession and organizational effectiveness.
  • Set strategy, priorities and investment.  Align priorities with EMEA and Global Publishing and Esports strategies, own budget execution, and define direction across people, agencies, production and technology.
  • Create cross-functional alignment. Partner with leaders across Publishing, Esports, Product, Marketing, Communications, Technology, Operations and Global functions; represent EMEA in regional and global forums.

Required qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience across broadcast, live events, creative content, production or closely related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience managing change, complex, multi-function teams and organizational operations, including experience managing managers.
  • Experience translating strategy into an executable roadmap, operating rhythms, budget management, and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience with resource planning, vendor and partner management.
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills and collaborative mindset, with the ability to align senior stakeholders around difficult decisions and trade-offs.
  • Ability to use metrics and audience insights to evaluate content performance and guide investment decisions.
  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
  • Fluency in English.

Desired qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the EMEA game publishing, esports, sports, and entertainment ecosystem.
  • Experience leading across multiple countries, cultures, games or business lines.
  • Fluency in German.
  • A passion for games and serving players.

For this role, you’ll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this could be your role
