High school diploma or GED and (2) or more years of dental assisting experience. One year of surgical assisting experience and/or Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) or Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA), radiology certification, CPR certification. Additional certification may be required based on dental specialty. Grade 3 (Hourly)

Position Description:

The University of Louisville School of Dentistry prepares students for a career in Dentistry and is seeking a Dental Assistant II. The UofL Graduate Practice Clinics is where residents provide dental care directly to patients. The Dental Assistant II position is a chairside dental assistant in our graduate specialty dental practice area in the School of Dentistry located at 501 S. Preston Street, Louisville, KY. Additionally, this role supports offsite locations as needed at 501 East Chestnut Street, Suite 550, and 982 Eastern Parkway.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the faculty, peers and supervisors to deliver customer service oriented and patient centered care.

  • Serve as chairside dental assistant to dentists as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) or a surgical assistant, providing four hand dental assisting as needed.

  • Greet, seat, and schedule patients as needed.

  • Maintain stock of supplies throughout the clinic, and order as needed.

  • Stock, prepare, organize, break down and clean operatories.

  • Sterilize clinic instruments following appropriate infection control procedures.

  • Take radiographs as needed.

  • Maintain HIPAA, OSHA and Infection Control compliance at all times.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$29.27

Target Compensation Minimum:

$19.51

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
