At Neighbor, we're building the largest hyperlocal marketplace the world has ever seen. We've raised over $75 million from top-tier investors such as Andreessen Horowitz and the CEOs of DoorDash, StockX, and Uber. Our marketplace is already flourishing in all 50 states and we're just getting started!
About the Role
Neighbor is looking for a talented, ambitious, high-agency person to build one of our most exciting new growth initiatives from the ground up. The mission is to help residential and commercial property owners identify and invest in capital improvements that increase their earnings on Neighbor. You'll identify the highest-impact property improvements (think modular storage units, sheds, gravel, fencing, etc.), build the financial case for property owners, prove the concept in the field, and scale what works.
This is a true zero-to-one role with end-to-end ownership of a new business line. If you want to build companies someday—or just want more ownership than most early-career roles can offer—this is a chance to solve complex problems, prove a new business model, and make a measurable impact from day one.
Responsibilities
Build financial models that make the case for capital improvements.
Build the sales motion: identify target markets and properties, develop the pitch, and convince property owners to commit capital.
Own vendor relationships as needed: procurement, pricing, delivery logistics, and contract terms.
Work cross-functionally to drive demand to live locations and hit occupancy targets, leaning on local growth strategies built for each site.
Conduct in-person property visits to understand the reality on the ground and adapt accordingly.
Track program performance against clear KPIs, and use the data to decide where to scale and where to cut.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Strategy, Economics, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, real estate investing, entrepreneurship, or a related field.
Ability to create a financial model from scratch and explain the output to a non-technical audience.
Track record of convincing people to commit capital or make significant decisions based on your recommendation.
Ability to prioritize ruthlessly and stay organized across multiple workstreams under ambiguity.
Nice to haves
Experience building a new business line or program from scratch, ideally at an early-stage startup.
Background in self-storage, logistics, or real estate.
MBA or advanced degree.
