The Team
Across our work in Science, Education, and within our communities, we pair technology with grantmaking, impact investing, and collaboration to help accelerate the pace of progress toward our mission. Our Operations organization provides the support needed to push this work forward.
Operations consists of our Brand & Communications, Central Tech, Finance, People, Real Estate/Workplace/Events/Facilities/Security (REWFS), Strategy & Operations, and Ventures teams. These teams provide the essential operations, services, and strategies needed to support CZI’s progress toward achieving its mission to build a better future for everyone.

Technical Recruiters at CZI are key partners and consultants to hiring managers and leaders across the organization who develop strategies to attract and hire outstanding technical talent from a wide range of backgrounds and levels.
As a member of our Technology Recruiting team, you’ll lead the hiring delivery for a function, provide direction on a diverse and sophisticated set of candidate markets and build strategies to allow us to source, engage and hire the best talent.
This is a hybrid position: team members are expected to work from our office in Redwood City, CA 60% of the working month (about 3 days per week).
What You'll Do
- Partner closely with leaders in our Technology organization to develop hiring plans for their highest priorities, serving as an advisor to them when navigating the hiring process
- Hire mission-driven, quality candidates and meet our headcount goals
- Hold hiring experience as the center of your Recruiting philosophy, ensuring the candidates, managers, and partners have a delightful experience in every interaction.
- Provide excellent support to candidates throughout the Recruitment process, regardless of hiring outcome, and educate hiring teams to do the same
- Analyze hiring data in order to make recommendations on compensation, sources of applicants and hires, interviewing techniques and other key elements of hiring strategies
- Facilitate and lead key initiatives and projects with client groups, and with the recruiting team, that will continuously improve and scale our recruiting operations and results
- Thrive in ambiguity and leading others through change

- Achieve results in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of Recruiting experience for a variety of subject areas and levels for candidates from a wide range of backgrounds
- Fantastic relationship management, communication, and influencing skills at all levels of an organization
- Extensive experience generating candidate pipeline across multiple channels including passive search and navigating Recruiting processes and workflows to hire outstanding talent
- Experience driving innovative Recruiting initiatives as solutions to the organization’s most sophisticated hiring challenges
- Demonstrated excellent project management capabilities, effectively balancing a heavy requisition load and the tasks required to meet offer out dates
- Experience with executive recruiting a plus
Compensation
The Redwood City, CA base pay range for this role is $153,000 - $230,000. New hires are typically hired into the lower portion of the range, enabling employee growth in the range over time. Actual placement in range is based on job-related skills and experience, as evaluated throughout the interview process.
