Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE ROLE
At Anduril, maintenance isn't an afterthought — it's the backbone that keeps our high-throughput, automation-
heavy factories running. As we scale production at Arsenal-1, our new manufacturing campus in Ashville, Ohio,
we are standing up the site maintenance organization for Building 1 from a blank sheet of paper.
We are looking for a Senior Manager of Maintenance to own that build end to end. This is the senior site leader
accountable for the maintenance and reliability of Arsenal-1 Building 1 as it ramps to multi-program, two-shift
production supporting Fury, Barracuda, Altius, Roadrunner, and additional advanced programs. You will set the
maintenance strategy, design and staff the organization, build the leadership team beneath you, stand up the
preventive maintenance and spare parts programs, and establish the reliability culture that everything
downstream depends on. As a member of the site operations leadership team, you will represent maintenance
in capital planning, facility expansion, and program-launch decisions.
You will report directly to the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations at Arsenal-1 and partner closely with
Anduril's central maintenance Center of Excellence to bring enterprise standards to life on our floor.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Set the maintenance strategy and build the organization from scratch — define the operating model, org
structure, shift coverage, budget, and multi-year staffing plan for Arsenal-1 Building 1, and grow it as
production ramps across two shifts.
- Build and lead a multi-layer team — hire and develop maintenance managers and supervisors beneath you,
along with skilled-trades technicians (electrical/controls, mechanical/millwright, and facilities) and
planners/schedulers spanning administrative, tactical, and strategic roles.
- Stand up the preventive and predictive maintenance program — develop PM schedules, job plans, and
reliability strategies for a mixed environment of manual and automated assembly, machining and
fabrication, and building/facility systems.
- Own the spare parts and MRO strategy and budget — define critical spares for the program plan of record,
set stocking levels and reorder points, establish the storeroom, own the maintenance operating and capital
budget, and build OEM and supplier relationships to protect uptime.
- Deploy maintenance systems and data — implement and administer the CMMS for work order
management, asset tracking, PM compliance, and KPI reporting, configured to the enterprise standard.
- Support new equipment and automation launches — partner with controls engineering, automation, and
facilities on equipment installation, commissioning, spare-parts provisioning, and maintainability from day
one.
- Own tooling, calibration, and documentation — establish calibration schedules, asset registers, equipment
manuals, and maintenance records for the site.
- Drive reliability and continuous improvement — track and improve uptime, MTBF/MTTR, PM compliance,
and cost, and lead root-cause analysis on chronic and high-impact failures.
- Roll up your sleeves — work shoulder-to-shoulder with manufacturing on the floor, and get hands-on when
it counts, especially in the early stand-up phase.
HOW THIS ROLE WORKS WITH THE CENTRAL MAINTENANCE TEAM
Anduril is building a central maintenance function and Center of Excellence that defines the standards, policies,
and best practices every site runs on. This role is the primary Arsenal-1 counterpart to that team.
- Governance and standards: you adopt and localize the enterprise operating model — CMMS configuration
and naming conventions, PM and calibration standards, KPI definitions, safety and LOTO procedures, and
reliability best practices — so Arsenal-1 stays consistent with the broader network.
- Site autonomy: you own the day-to-day execution and site-level decisions — shift coverage, trade mix,
hiring, local vendor and OEM relationships, and priority calls on the floor.
- Two-way flow: you contribute Arsenal-1 lessons learned back to the Center of Excellence, and you have a
dotted-line relationship to the central maintenance leader for standardization, mentorship, and network-
wide alignment while reporting solid-line to Manufacturing Operations at the site.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environments, including 4+ years in maintenance
leadership roles managing managers and/or supervisors.
- Based on-site at Arsenal-1 in Ashville, Ohio.
- Demonstrated experience standing up maintenance organizations, PM systems, and spare parts strategies
from scratch — ideally in greenfield or early-stage facilities.
- Proven ability to own a maintenance budget and represent maintenance in capital planning and site
leadership decisions.
- Hands-on experience with OEMs and automated production equipment.
- Skilled-trades background, or engineering experience paired with a genuinely hands-on approach.
- Working knowledge of CMMS/work-order systems, tooling, and calibration.
- Proven ability to operate at both the strategic and shop-floor levels.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with manufacturing,
controls, and automation teams.
- Background in automotive, aerospace, defense, or heavy industry (e.g., Caterpillar, Boeing, Tier 1 suppliers).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience standing up or leading maintenance for automation-heavy facilities.
- Experience building and running multi-shift maintenance coverage at scale.
- 3–5 years in a startup or fast-growing company environment.
- Experience partnering with a central/corporate maintenance function or Center of Excellence.
