Job description

About Vercel:

Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.

Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.

About the role

Vercel is scaling fast, and the Senior Manager, Accounting will help build the financial infrastructure behind our global growth and path to the public markets. You'll own statutory accounting across Vercel's current and future entities, from monthly close and compliance to audit support and process improvement. Working closely with the Head of Finance for the India Center of Excellence, the US-based Controller, and the global finance team, you'll bring structure and ownership to a fast-growing function.

What you'll do

  • Lead monthly and quarterly close for Vercel's current and future international entities, setting standards for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness under local and US GAAP.
  • Guide accounts payable and receivable teams on correct accounting, and manage payroll accounting and intercompany transactions with the global finance team.
  • Own statutory compliance, including preparing and filing financial statements, audits, and TDS/TCS returns, and coordinating with external auditors, tax advisors, and corporate secretaries on secretarial compliance.
  • Partner with the US-based Controller and CAO on the global close, preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Partner with the SOX leader to design, implement, and evolve SOX-aligned controls for international entities as the business scales, and execute them consistently.
  • Lead close process improvements, identifying automation and AI opportunities, simplifying workflows, and building scalable infrastructure for the finance function.
  • Own the audit relationship for these entities, preparing materials, answering auditor questions, and keeping audits on track.
  • Collaborate with Legal, HR, FP&A, and Revenue Operations on new business initiatives with accounting implications.
  • Support pre- and post-acquisition activities, including due diligence, integrating acquired entities, compliance, and data migration.
  • Lead new entity setup in different countries, representing the accounting team and getting entities operational.
  • Monitor changes in local GAAP, tax, regulatory, and corporate compliance requirements, and implement them in accounting processes on time.
  • Support cash, banking, treasury, and FX accounting for international entities, including bank reconciliations, revaluations, realized/unrealized FX, and cash reporting.

What you need

  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years managing a team; CA required, CPA or equivalent international qualification a plus.
  • Technical accounting expertise in IFRS and US GAAP, with experience applying local GAAP, statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, ideally at a high-growth tech or SaaS company with multi-entity structures.
  • Hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite preferred), with a track record managing or supporting Big 4 or top-tier audits.
  • Process-minded and curious, with experience using AI, automation, and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency, and comfortable building where process and documentation may not yet exist.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.
  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
  • Flexible Time Off.
  • We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.
