Senior DevOps Engineer – GCP/OpenStack - Five9

Responsibilities:

• Architect and evolve our OpenStack environment

• Linux configuration and troubleshooting

• Design and maintain availability zones

• Collaborate with other architects and engineers on the design/deployment of our OpenStack environment

• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, test, and build the platform

• Work across teams to provide feedback and guidance in the evolution of platform support

• Understand cluster requirements with evolving customer needs; design and implement solutions meeting those requirements

• Create and document processes and procedures through comprehensive testing

• Effectively communicate with cloud tenants as required

• Be willing to participate in an on-call rota

*This position is based out of one of the offices of our affiliate Acqueon Technologies in India, and will adopt the hybrid work arrangements of that location. You will be a member of the Acqueon team with responsibilities supporting Five9 products, collaborating with global teammates based primarily in the United States.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience designing and maintaining OpenStack networking including OVS/OVN, and interfacing with hardware networks

• 5+ years of experience with Linux configuration and troubleshooting

• Strong client service orientation and ability to maintain positive partnerships

• Solid understanding and hands-on experience of OpenStack core services such as Neutron, Nova, and Cinder

• Detailed knowledge of one of the public clouds

• Experience with Containers

• Automation using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, BASH, and Python scripting

• Excellent planning and problem-solving skills

• Organized, with a track record of managing complex projects

• Ability to work with internal developers to collect feedback, prioritize tasks, and manage the engineering backlog

• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and help out with hardware and software issues

Desired Skills:

• Certified OpenStack Administrator or equivalent experience

• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with other platform architects

• Membership and active participation in the OpenStack community and core projects

• Familiarity with Infrastructure Automation

• Familiarity with Kubernetes

• Familiarity with Data Center design, including server hardware, rack diagrams, power, and cooling requirements

• Strong OpenStack networking skills

• Strong Cisco networking skills

• Knowledge of monitoring and performance tools such as Prometheus, Grafana
