What's exciting about the role:

We are looking for an experienced Solutions Engineer with deep knowledge of payment technology to support our sales organization throughout the presales process. This role combines technical expertise, industry insight, and customer-facing skills to position our product suite—including payment hardware, software, gateways, and device management—as the best fit for customer needs.

As the technical expert in the sales cycle, you will work closely with account executives, product managers, and prospective customers to understand requirements, deliver compelling demos, provide architectural guidance, and help secure new business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales to identify, qualify, and win opportunities by understanding customer business challenges and positioning the right solution.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations and technical deep dives across our full solution set:
    • Payment terminals
    • Payment software
    • Device management platforms
    • Payment gateways and integrations
  • Lead technical discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with prospects.
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into business value tailored to each prospect.
  • Prepare and deliver documentation such as solution overviews, technical responses (RFPs/RFIs), and implementation diagrams.
  • Advise customers on EMV, PCI, P2PE, and MPoC best practices as relevant to our solutions.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison during the sales process—answering technical questions, validating feasibility, and ensuring alignment.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure feedback from the field informs roadmap planning.
  • Maintain technical expertise and awareness of industry trends and competitor capabilities.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and partner events as needed.

Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a presales engineer, solutions engineer, or related technical sales role.
  • Strong domain experience in payments technology—including payment terminals, EMV, card networks, PCI standards, and mobile/contactless payments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical details into business outcomes.
  • Strong presentation and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 25-40%).

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with APIs, SDKs, and payment platform integrations.
  • Experience with Android-based payment devices or custom hardware solutions.
  • Background in SaaS, device management platforms, or gateway integrations.
  • Prior experience supporting channel partners or ISVs.
