Our promise to our associates is rock-solid: we enjoy our work, we inspire each other, we provide equal growth opportunities for all team members, all roles are represented in all countries. Job Description

As an IT Systems & Automation Engineer, you will drive the reliability, modernization, and automated operations of critical enterprise systems and data lifecycle infrastructure across Bosch globally.

In this role, you will champion automated workflows, maintain robust multi-tier system environments (Windows Server, databases, and application platforms), and eliminate operational bottlenecks through proactive engineering. While enterprise data lifecycle and archiving services form an important component of the environment, your primary focus will be optimizing infrastructure stability, implementing end-to-end automation, and ensuring high-availability enterprise services for global stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Managing and administering multi-tier enterprise systems, including MS Windows Servers, Oracle/SQL databases, and enterprise data lifecycle platforms.
  • Optimizing, scripting, and automating routine operational tasks and maintenance workflows.
  • Setting up and onboarding new systems, automated workflows, and archiving/data lifecycle processes.
  • Maintaining existing infrastructure and archiving environments, including regular patching, upgrades, and system hardening.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues, serving as the final internal technical escalation point before involving external software vendors.
  • Monitoring and reporting on infrastructure health, performance, and service availability.
  • Providing consultation to Bosch internal stakeholders, including colleagues from other IT departments and business units, on systems management, automation capabilities, and archiving services.

Qualifications

The Profile We Are Looking For

Core Competencies:

  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft Windows Server administration.
  • Solid experience working with SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle databases.
  • Practical experience with PowerShell scripting and process/task automation.
  • Experience working with web and application servers such as Apache Tomcat and Microsoft IIS.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with an automation-first mindset.

Nice to Have capabilities:

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platforms such as Hyland solutions (e.g., OnBase / Nuxeo / Alfresco) or OpenText (Content Server / Archive Center).
  • Understanding NoSQL databases (like Mongo).
  • Exposure to private cloud environments, virtualization, or modern infrastructure hosting scenarios.
  • Experience integrating archiving/lifecycle solutions with enterprise ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
  • Familiarity with enterprise workload automation and job scheduling tools (e.g. Automic Automation).
