Key Responsibilities
- Lead Yotpo's Data organization in its next phase, driving a lean, high-performing, and highly technical operating model.
- Own the technical vision, architecture, and execution across Data Engineering and Data Infrastructure.
- Directly manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering growth, accountability, and engineering excellence.
- Provide strong hands-on technical leadership, guiding architectural decisions, reviewing designs, and driving execution on critical initiatives.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to deliver scalable data products and platforms that support business and product needs.
- Drive modernization of Yotpo's data ecosystem, balancing proven data technologies with emerging approaches in AI, automation, and modern data platforms.
- Lead strategic initiatives involving critical infrastructure, platforms, and investments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Champion best practices in data engineering, platform reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform, Data Infrastructure, or related technical domains.
- 3+ years of engineering leadership experience, including direct people management and ownership of strategic technical initiatives.
- Strong hands-on expertise designing, building, and operating large-scale data platforms and distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of modern data architectures, including data warehouses, data lakes, data pipelines, orchestration frameworks, and cloud-based platforms.
- Proven ability to lead technical direction while remaining actively involved in architecture and implementation discussions.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams across Data Engineering, Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, or related functions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience partnering across technical and business organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and influence outcomes in complex environments.
- A passion for innovation and continuous learning, with a strong interest in AI, automation, and the future of data platforms.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience leveraging AI, GenAI, LLM-based tools, or AI-assisted development workflows in engineering organizations.
- Experience leading organizational or operational transformations within data teams.
- Background in high-growth B2B SaaS companies.
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, Kafka, dbt, or similar modern data tools.
- Familiarity with DataOps, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and observability practices.
- Experience supporting business domains such as Finance, Customer Support, Revenue Operations, GTM, or Business Intelligence.
- Strong understanding of emerging trends in AI-native engineering and next-generation data platforms.
