Position Summary:

The Director, International Accounting in India will report to the Controller located in the US and is responsible for managing internal and external reporting needs, as well as developing and managing the international subsidiary accounting processes. Our ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity, is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment, and is willing to roll-up their sleeves and work in the details with their team as needed. Working in a different time zone from the Company’s US based operations, the ideal candidate will work well independently while also working to support the day-to-day financial operations in India time zone.


The Director, International Accounting manages a first class international accounting team located in India, that supports the Company’s international operations. This leader also acts as a go-to for other in-country leaders within Engineering, Procurement, Marketing, Sales and People to make in-time-zone decisions to keep things moving.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Oversee and coordinate monthly and quarterly close processes for all international subsidiaries, prepare and record necessary elimination entries and perform reconciliation of all intercompany balances
  • Preparing monthly global consolidations in a timely, accurate and complete manner to support the consolidated monthly close timeline of 5 business days.
  • Support international in-country tax teams and local service providers to meet international regulatory and tax compliance needs, including VAT/GST and maintaining proper documentation for local country tax refunds/credits
  • Partner with local service providers as needed to review and coordinate international statutory filings, including bridging statutory financial and tax books to U.S. GAAP
  • Process vendor payments from each international bank account on a weekly basis
  • Oversee international payroll processing using ADP Celergo for India and UK subsidiaries
  • Monitor international cash management and funding requirements
  • Establish and maintain procedures related to revaluation of foreign currency balances, non-USD currency translation and related adjustments
  • Ensure all international compliance requirements are satisfied including quarterly reporting to management.
  • Liaise with sales leaders on pricing and negotiations
  • Recommends process improvements to the various systems and initiates corrective action with relevant departments.
  • Qualifications:
  • 8 years of progressive experience in accounting including 3+ years management experience
  • Experience working with international subsidiaries and transfer pricing
  • Experience reviewing, preparing and reconciling multi-currency, inter company consolidation accounts
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) certification preferred; other relevant certifications a differentiator
  • Netsuite experience preferred
  • ADP Celergo experience a plus
  • Excellent computer and excel skills
  • Comprehensive and current understanding of US GAAP and international accounting standards (IFRS or other local accounting standards), and multiple currency environments
  • Ability to be deeply hands-on while also thinking strategically. If you prefer to delegate everything immediately or stay purely in review mode, this will not be the right fit.
