Job description

ON.energy is building the power infrastructure that makes the AI era possible. As AI demand surges past what the grid and traditional data centers can support, ON.energy provides a new class of power technology proven at gigawatt scale and trusted by the world’s leading cloud and AI companies. Our systems are already deployed across 2.5 GW of hyper-scale campuses, validated by top U.S. national labs, and certified for grid-safe operation by major utilities. With real products in the field, we’re scaling faster than the grid can, transforming power from a bottleneck into a competitive advantage for the companies building the future.

The Opportunity

This is not an administrative role. This is a strategic force-multiplier position designed for a future executive leader.

As Chief of Staff, you will operate as the CEO’s proxy, strategic architect, and organizational integrator. You will have direct exposure to the Board of Directors, the Executive Leadership Team, and high-stakes negotiations with utilities, hyperscalers, regulators, and capital partners.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Alignment (CEO Proxy)

You will ensure the company is focused on the right problems—and executing on them at speed.
  • Orchestrate the Enterprise Rhythm:
Manage the CEO’s decision-making framework and operating cadence. Ensure executive focus remains on high-leverage priorities (e.g., AI data center partnerships, manufacturing expansion) rather than reactive firefighting.
  • Lead the OKR & Planning Process:
Own quarterly and annual planning cycles. Translate our “North Star” objectives—especially expansion into U.S. ISO markets into clear, actionable KPIs across Engineering, Sales, Finance, and Operations.
  • Proxy Decision-Making:
Represent the CEO in critical internal and external forums. You will be empowered to negotiate, unblock bottlenecks, and make decisions to maintain deployment velocity and strategic momentum.

Execution & Cross-Functional Command

You will own execution where accountability is ambiguous—and outcomes matter most.
  • Lead White-Space Initiatives: Drive high-priority, cross-functional projects that don’t fit neatly into a single department. Examples include launching a new Grid-Safe AI product line or operationalizing a new regional headquarters.
  • Supply Chain & Operations Integration: Partner with the COO and CTO to align software, hardware manufacturing, and site deployment teams—reducing friction from factory to field.
  • M&A and Market Expansion: Support Corporate Development in identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic acquisitions, partnerships, or joint ventures that accelerate hyperscale market penetration.

Board, Investor & Stakeholder Relations

You will help shape how the company is understood by its most critical stakeholders.
  • Board of Directors Management: Architect board-level narratives. Partner with the CFO to translate complex energy arbitrage models, project finance structures, and deployment metrics into a compelling story of value creation.
  • Capital Markets Storytelling: Help refine the company’s equity and growth narrative—whether raising project capital, structuring partnerships, or preparing for a potential public listing.
  • External Diplomacy: Support the CEO in managing high-stakes relationships with utilities, IPPs, hyperscalers, regulators, and strategic partners across the U.S. and LATAM.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in strategy, operations, consulting, corporate development, investing, or a similar high-ownership role
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted proxy for senior leadership
  • Strong cross-functional execution skills—comfortable leading without formal authority
  • Experience with infrastructure, energy, AI/data centers, industrial tech, or capital-intensive businesses is a strong plus
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially in executive and board-level settings
  • High judgment, low ego, and comfort operating in ambiguity

For US-based roles - What you’ll get:

  • Professional development and growth opportunities
  • Opportunity to grow with a mission-driven team shaping the future of clean energy
  • Equal Opportunity: ON.energy is committed to equal employment opportunity and to maintaining a work environment free of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation.
