We’re looking for an Associate, Retail Partnerships to support the development and execution of go-to-market plans, while collaborating with cross-functional teams on successful retail product launches. You will have the opportunity to research and foster growth opportunities for the retail channel, and work on building existing accounts. This role reports into our Director, Retail & Wholesale.
What you'll do:
Build and maintain relationships with key retail partners including Walmart, Target, Ulta, Sephora, chain drugstores, high-end apothecaries, and medical spasDevelop and implement distribution strategies tailored to mass-market and specialty retail channelsLead the development and execution of go-to-market plans, including assortment strategy, pricing, pitch decks, sampling, marketing plans, and promotionsCollaborate with Operations to drive new product development and successful launchesManage SKU launches, ensuring compliance with retailer requirements and seamless onboardingDevelop customized strategies to highlight product benefits for each retailer's demographicResearch and identify new growth opportunities for brands and categories in partnership with brokers and agencies.Serve as the primary point of contact for retail partners, ensuring alignment on goals, promotions, and product launchesNegotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with buyers to secure favorable agreementsAssist in managing broker relationships, marketing, and lead generation partnershipsMonitor retail performance, including sales, inventory, and sell-through ratesMonitor market trends and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities and adapt strategies
Requirements:
2-4 years experience in retail sales or business development (beauty, skincare, or personal care preferred)Familiarity with merchandise planning, allocation, and retail processes.Strong understanding of retail math and P&L managementProven ability to secure and grow partnerships with major retailers (Walmart, Target, Ulta, Sephora)Deep understanding of retail distribution, merchandising strategies, and mass-market vs. specialty retailStrong negotiation, relationship management, and communication skillsResults-driven with a proven ability to meet/exceed sales targetsExcellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
Bonus points if you have:
Familiarity with EDI systemsExperience managing Walmart, Target, Ulta or Sephora accountsExposure to e-commerce integration alongside brick-and-mortar strategies
