Job Description

About commercetools

Real innovation starts with a strong foundation, and at commercetools, that comes from the perfect balance of our product and our people.

Behind every leap forward is a collective of builders, explorers, doers, makers, and problem-solvers.The kind of people who not only pioneered a more flexible approach to commerce architecture but also shaped the culture of experimentation that approach unlocked. Together they are the engine of commerce innovation today.

At commercetools, we power the next era of commerce for our customers. Whether it’s AI-driven solutions that help enterprises make smarter business decisions, bridging digital and physical shopping experiences, or enabling entirely new ways for industries to connect with their customers, we help the world’s most ambitious companies experiment, scale, and grow without limits.

Here the best idea wins, not the loudest voice. You will have the tools, trust, and space to not only build the future of commerce, but to build your own.

Your Impact

Are you a "people person" with a sharp mind and a passion for organizational culture? We are looking for a highly motivated Working Student to join our People team in Munich!

We are looking for a dedicated student to act as the "right hand" to our two senior People Business Partners (one based in Munich and one in Boston). You will play a crucial role in ensuring our People operations run smoothly, supporting high-impact projects, and helping us maintain a culture that is both high-performing and incredibly fun.

You will:

  • Direct Support: Work closely with two Senior PBPs to assist with daily administrative tasks, ensuring our stakeholders receive world-class support.
  • Global Coordination: Bridge the gap between Munich and Boston! You’ll help coordinate meetings and communications across time zones.
  • Project Management: Support key People initiatives (such as the Annual Performance review, Engagement plans…)
  • Tool Mastery: Help maintain our People data in systems like Personio and Leapsome, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communication: Draft "people-minded" internal communications and help prepare presentations for senior stakeholders.

What you need to succeed:

  • Current Student: You are currently enrolled in a University program (Business, Psychology, HR, or similar) and are based in the Munich area.
  • Sharp & Proactive: You learn quickly, you aren't afraid to ask questions, and you always look for ways to improve a process.
  • Language Skills: Your English is excellent (written and spoken). German is a plus but not required as we are a global team.
  • People-Minded: You lead with empathy and genuinely care about the employee experience.
  • Reliable: You can handle confidential information with discretion and take ownership of your tasks from start to finish.

Nice to have:

  • Some experience working in a fast-paced environment, e.g., a startup, student project, or part-time job.
  • Basic familiarity with workplace programs, employee engagement, or hospitality services.
  • Interest in supporting daily office operations and working in a hybrid work environment.
  • Enthusiasm for helping build community, organizing events, and supporting employee well-being initiatives.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
