Technical Program Manager

Job description

Magnopus is looking for a Technical Program Manager to help teams plan, coordinate and deliver complex technology initiatives across a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment.

As a spatial design and innovation company, we work at the intersection of technology, creativity and emerging experiences. Our teams bring together engineers, designers, artists, producers and product specialists to create ambitious work for some of the world's leading brands and organisations.

This role sits at the centre of that collaboration. You'll work across multiple product lines, internal technology initiatives and, where needed, client-facing projects, helping teams turn ambitious goals into clear plans and successful outcomes.

We're looking for someone who enjoys creating clarity in ambiguous situations, bringing people together around shared objectives and helping teams make consistent progress toward meaningful outcomes.

Success in this role requires strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to balance long-term planning with the realities of day-to-day delivery.

What makes this role different

We're not looking for someone who simply tracks tasks and schedules meetings.

We're looking for someone who acts as a genuine delivery partner to the teams they support - someone who can help shape plans, identify risks early, challenge assumptions when needed and create the conditions for successful delivery.

Our environment is collaborative, fast-moving and constantly evolving. Priorities can shift, requirements can change and new opportunities can emerge quickly. Success in this role requires someone who is comfortable operating with a degree of ambiguity while maintaining focus, momentum and clarity for the teams around them.

You'll often find yourself moving between different teams, technologies and initiatives, helping stakeholders align on priorities, breaking down complex work into achievable plans and supporting teams through the inevitable challenges that arise during delivery.

Along the way, you'll help improve how we work by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve visibility, leverage automation and make better use of emerging technologies, including AI, to support planning, reporting and decision-making.

What you'll do
  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of complex technology initiatives from concept through to release.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, QA and other stakeholders to align objectives, priorities and delivery plans.
  • Support multiple product lines, technology initiatives and client-facing projects as business priorities evolve.
  • Facilitate effective planning activities, including roadmap planning, sprint planning, estimation, dependency management and release planning.
  • Create and maintain project plans, schedules and delivery forecasts, ensuring teams have clear priorities and achievable goals.
  • Identify, communicate and mitigate delivery risks, developing contingency plans where appropriate.
  • Monitor team progress, velocity and delivery health, helping teams adapt plans when priorities or circumstances change.
  • Drive effective communication across teams and stakeholders, ensuring the right people have the information they need to make informed decisions.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives and planning sessions.
  • Help teams break down large initiatives into actionable work, ensuring scope, dependencies and delivery expectations are clearly understood.
  • Support resource planning activities by helping teams understand capacity, constraints and delivery implications.
  • Produce clear and meaningful reporting on progress, risks, dependencies and delivery outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, planning processes, reporting and operational effectiveness through better use of tools, automation and emerging technologies.
  • Help create alignment across distributed and cross-functional teams, maintaining momentum and focus in complex delivery environments.
  • What will help you succeed in this role
  • Experience managing complex technical programs, projects or product initiatives from concept through delivery.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers and QA teams in a collaborative delivery environment.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience identifying and managing delivery risks, dependencies and competing priorities.
  • Confidence facilitating planning discussions, estimation exercises and delivery reviews.
  • A pragmatic approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • Comfort operating in environments where priorities, requirements and timelines may evolve rapidly.
  • The ability to simplify complex problems and help teams focus on what matters most.
  • Strong judgement and the confidence to ask challenging questions, challenge assumptions when necessary and help teams make informed decisions.
  • The ability to balance competing priorities across multiple teams while maintaining visibility, alignment and momentum.
  • Strong technical curiosity and the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar technologies, products and problem spaces.
  • Experience creating automation and reporting tools using AI technologies to improve visibility, efficiency and team effectiveness.
  • A collaborative mindset and a genuine desire to help teams succeed.
  • Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Even better if you also have
  • Experience working within SaaS, platform, live-service or product-led technology organisations.
  • Experience supporting research-heavy, experimental or highly ambiguous initiatives.
  • Experience improving delivery processes, reporting practices or operational workflows.
  • Experience working with distributed international teams.
  • Experience administering or optimising Jira workflows and project management tooling.
  • Experience within games, media, entertainment, creative technology or related industries.
  • We don't expect anyone to tick every box

If you're excited by the opportunity to help build great teams, enjoy working with smart and creative people, and believe you could be successful in the role, we'd love to hear from you.
