Position Overview:
We are seeking a Staff Accountant who can contribute to our fast-paced close process with great attention to detail. The candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting duties including general ledger accounting transactions, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and process improvements. The position requires close coordination, communication, and effective cross-functional relationships with other team members.
Position Responsibilities:
Prepare and record journal entries, as well as respond to general ledger inquiries as needed. Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.Manage intercompany relationships and balances. This will involve liaising with different international locations to ensure proper accounting globally. Ensure that all existing accounting/financial policies and procedures are consistently applied across all regions and companies in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Provide solutions to accounting issues as they arise.Responsible for the preparation and analysis of prepaid and accrued expenses.Responsible for overseeing accounting transactions for international entities, including real-time review of month-end close and review of all monthly account reconciliations. Assist with the development and documentation of accounting processes, policies, and controls.Support requests of the Company’s external auditors.Perform other related duties (special projects and reporting analysis) as necessary.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting 2+ years of relevant financial accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environmentExperience with SAP, and experience in a cross-functional environment preferred. Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment with high attention to detail Be a solutions-oriented team player and possess excellent organizational skillsStrong critical thinking, analytical, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to develop frameworks and solutions to questions and conceptsStrong understanding of month-end and year-end close processes, including proficient in handling accruals, prepaids, reconciliations, and other general accounting tasks.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing prioritiesAbility to work with a high degree of integrity, professional judgment, and management of confidential and sensitive information.This position is onsite in Syracuse, NY.
