Your Role
Zip's infrastructure is built on AWS and has been evolving since the company's inception. With the recent exponential growth of our business, it's crucial to revamp the cloud architecture for enhanced scalability and reliability.
This role will be an early member of the Cloud Infrastructure pod, focused on driving the company’s cloud-native engineering strategy.
You Will
- Architect Zip’s cloud native AWS infrastructure for reliability, scalability, security, and efficiency
- Develop and manage EKS-based Kubernetes, utilizing tools such as ArgoCD, Flux, Helm charts, and Terraform
- Lead and ship large technical projects with other engineers, such as transforming services into multi-cluster and multi-region architecture
- Support Zip’s product engineering teams by abstracting infrastructure complexity through a managed services approach
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical such as Physics or Mathematics
- 5+ years of cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE experience
- 3+ years of expertise with AWS and Kubernetes
- Experience managing CI/CD, such as Github Actions, Jenkins, and ArgoCD
- Experience in designing, implementing, and scaling multi-cluster, multi-region, and multi-account infrastructure
- Understanding of networking in AWS & Kubernetes including service meshes, load balancing, and VPCs
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), such as Terraform, Helm, or Kustomize
- Proficiency in modern development practices, systems engineering principles, and scripting
- Demonstrated ability and eagerness to quickly learn new frameworks, architectural patterns, and programming languages as needed
Nice to Haves
- Prior experience working in a B2B SaaS fintech company
- Familiarity with compliance standards, such as SOC 2 and GDPR
The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $220,000. The salary for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.
