Senior Salesforce Administrator

Job description

Now, we’re entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a a Senior Salesforce Administrator to serve as a hands-on technical leader for our Salesforce environment and broader GTM systems landscape. This role will own complex Salesforce administration and architecture decisions while partnering closely with Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, Sales leadership, Finance, IT, Customer Success, and other business stakeholders.

The Senior Salesforce Administrator must be able to understand how individual requests affect the larger Salesforce architecture, data model, security model, automation landscape, integrations, reporting dependencies, and downstream business processes. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between strategic design and detailed execution: gathering requirements, designing scalable solutions, building and testing automation, troubleshooting production issues, documenting changes, and coaching less-experienced administrators. This role will work especially closely with PDW's Revenue Operations / Deal Desk function to support quoting, approvals, forecasting, pipeline management, order handoffs, reporting, and system integrations while maintaining the controls expected in a Salesforce Gov Cloud environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a senior technical owner for Salesforce administration, architecture, configuration, release management, and platform health.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable Salesforce designs, considering object model, security, automation, reporting, integrations, maintainability, and future growth before implementation.
  • Design, build, review, and optimize Salesforce Flows, approval processes, validation rules, assignment rules, screen flows, scheduled automation, and other declarative solutions.
  • Own and evolve the Salesforce data model across standard and custom objects, relationships, record types, page layouts, Lightning pages, and related business processes.
  • Administer Salesforce security using profiles, permission sets, permission set groups, roles, sharing rules, queues, public groups, record access, session controls, and least-privilege principles.
  • Partner with IT on Salesforce Gov Cloud security, SSO/Okta, MFA/passkeys, certificate management, Connected Apps, OAuth, API access, integration users, and vendor access.
  • Provide technical leadership for integrations involving Salesforce and systems such as NetSuite/Boomi, HubSpot, Jira, asset-management platforms, AI/API tooling, and other GTM applications.
  • Support and improve quoting, discounting, approvals, Opportunity Products, pipeline/forecasting, Cases, Leads, order/PO workflows, and other revenue-critical processes.
  • Develop reliable reporting and dashboard architecture and protect reports, fields, filters, APIs, and data dependencies used by downstream forecasting and S&OP tooling.
  • Lead troubleshooting for complex production issues, automation conflicts, permissions problems, data-quality failures, integration errors, and managed-package behavior.
  • Establish disciplined sandbox, UAT, deployment, rollback, documentation, and change-management practices for Salesforce releases.
  • Own or oversee bulk data operations, migrations, cleanup, deduplication, ownership changes, and data-governance initiatives.
  • Mentor junior administrators, review proposed solutions, provide design guidance, and help the team avoid unnecessary technical debt or duplicated automation.
  • Create technical documentation, admin runbooks, end-user guidance, and knowledge-transfer materials to reduce single points of failure.
  • Maintain an actionable Salesforce roadmap and backlog with business and IT stakeholders, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term platform architecture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce administration experience, including ownership of complex production environments.
  • Salesforce Administrator certification required; Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, or relevant architecture certifications strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to design Salesforce solutions end-to-end rather than implementing isolated configuration changes.
  • Experience with Salesforce security, sharing, permission architecture, Flow, reporting, data management, and release/change management.
  • Experience supporting integrations and coordinating technical work across Salesforce, IT, and business-system owners.
  • Strong requirements-gathering and process-mapping skills with the ability to challenge requests constructively and recommend simpler or more scalable approaches.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the judgment to investigate dependencies before modifying production behavior.
  • Clear written communication and documentation habits suitable for technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred

  • Salesforce Government Cloud / Gov Cloud Plus or another highly regulated Salesforce environment.
  • Experience navigating defense, aerospace, government contracting, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Working knowledge of Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, quoting, discounting, approvals, forecasting, order management, and sales operations.
  • Experience integrating NetSuite, Boomi, HubSpot, Jira, Slack, asset-management platforms, or related systems.
  • Salesforce APIs, OAuth integrations, AI-enabled workflows, or external reporting/forecasting applications.
  • Managed-package administration and vendor troubleshooting.
  • Experience mentoring junior Salesforce administrators or serving as the technical reviewer for admin work.

Physical Requirements
