Job title
Senior Marketing Operations Manager
Job location
Remote - United States
Job description

Location: US Remote
Reports to: VP, Marketing Operations

Role Overview

Nasuni is looking for a Senior Manager, Marketing Operations (PMO) to build and scale the operating system that turns marketing strategy into predictable execution.

You will own the Marketing PMO function, creating the planning rhythms, governance, work-management infrastructure, and cross-functional processes that help our marketing organization prioritize effectively, execute consistently, and adapt quickly as the business grows.

This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who has built or significantly evolved a PMO, centralized planning function, or comparable operating model—not simply managed projects within an established system.

You will also lead complex strategic programs spanning Marketing, IT, Sales Operations, Finance, and other business functions, including acquisition integrations and transformation initiatives.

This role reports to the VP of Marketing Operations and works closely with functional marketing leaders and executive stakeholders.

Level & Scope

You will independently own the Marketing PMO operating model while partnering with the VP of Marketing Operations on strategic direction and priorities.

You will have autonomy to diagnose execution challenges, design governance and planning mechanisms, establish operating cadences, improve workflows, and drive adoption across teams where you may have influence but no direct authority.

The role combines operating-model design with hands-on execution. You will build the system and also lead it until the system can operate predictably at scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and continuously improve Marketing’s integrated planning and operating cadence, including sprint planning, business reviews, quarterly planning, and cross-functional execution management.
  • Build scalable PMO governance that improves prioritization, accountability, handoffs, visibility, and delivery predictability across marketing functions.
  • Own and optimize Smartsheet as Marketing’s primary work-management environment, including workspace architecture, dashboards, templates, automations, and executive visibility.
  • Lead complex strategic programs spanning multiple functions, including acquisition integrations, business transformation initiatives, systems projects, and other leadership priorities.
  • Design and improve Marketing’s request and intake processes, establishing clear standards for prioritization, briefs, routing, ownership, and service expectations.
  • Identify execution risks, dependencies, and blockers early and work across functions to resolve them without relying on executive escalation.
  • Establish meaningful operating metrics, including delivery performance, governance adoption, backlog health, milestone completion, and planning predictability.
  • Partner with the VP of Marketing Operations to evolve PMO capabilities and build repeatable approaches for future integrations and transformation programs.
  • Apply AI-enabled tools to improve appropriate operational workflows such as planning, project synthesis, reporting, analysis, and workflow automation while maintaining validation, data awareness, and human accountability.

What Success Looks Like

In your first several months, you will take independent ownership of core planning and sprint cadences, establish a reliable source of truth for project execution, strengthen intake governance, and create structured workplans for priority strategic initiatives.

Over time, the Marketing Rhythm of Business should operate predictably without VP-level facilitation. Teams should experience the PMO as a function that creates clarity and makes execution easier—not as an additional layer of bureaucracy.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience building, establishing, or substantially evolving a PMO, centralized planning function, or comparable operating model.
  • Experience leading complex programs across multiple business functions without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Strong enterprise work-management platform expertise, including advanced use of Smartsheet or comparable platforms involving dashboards, automation, templates, governance, and scalable workspace design.
  • Demonstrated ability to design operating processes that improve accountability, adoption, and execution—not simply administer existing processes.
  • Strong influence and stakeholder-management skills with experience working across functional and leadership boundaries.
  • Practical experience using AI-enabled tools to improve professional workflows, with clear methods for validating outputs and maintaining human accountability.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Preferred

  • Experience in B2B SaaS, enterprise technology, cloud infrastructure, or another complex, high-growth environment.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or comparable project/program management certification.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, HubSpot, SharePoint, and Slack.
  • Experience with marketing budget governance or financial forecasting.

Ideal

  • Experience building a Marketing PMO or integrated marketing planning function from the ground up.
  • Experience supporting M&A integration or other significant cross-organizational transformation programs.
  • Advanced Smartsheet architecture and automation expertise.
  • Evidence of creating repeatable AI-enabled operational workflows that improve speed, quality, visibility, or decision-making.

Experience Guidelines

Candidates will typically bring 8+ years of relevant professional experience, including meaningful experience in program management, PMO, marketing operations, business operations, or a related discipline.

Scope and ownership matter more than tenure. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate what they personally built, the organizational problem it solved, how they drove adoption, and the measurable impact it produced.
