Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Technician to build, integrate, troubleshoot, and maintain complex robotic systems and engineering test assets. This is a hands-on role for someone who can work independently, own hardware within their area, and partner with engineers to drive problems to resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Build, integrate, bring up, and maintain complex robotic systems, subsystems, and test equipment.
  • Independently troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system-level failures using test equipment, logs, data, and engineering documentation.
  • Own assigned hardware and test assets, including configuration, upgrades, maintenance, uptime, and readiness.
  • Execute system and subsystem testing and clearly identify, document, and escalate failures.
  • Work with engineering to reproduce failures, validate fixes, and drive issues to closure.
  • Improve procedures, tooling, fixtures, and workflows to increase reliability, quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Maintain clear documentation of hardware configuration, test results, repairs, and known issues.
  • Train and support other technicians on hardware, procedures, and troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building, testing, troubleshooting, or repairing complex electromechanical systems.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and system-level troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with complex assembly, system bring-up, rework, and component replacement.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, and DAQ systems.
  • Working knowledge of Linux environments, shell commands, and Python for system bring-up, troubleshooting, test execution, and data collection.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, CAD, BOMs, and technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with robotics, automation, or complex electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with system integration, reliability testing, or failure analysis.
  • Familiarity with CATIA or similar CAD tools.
  • Python, Java, and/or C++ experience.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, or J-STD-001.

The US hourly range for this full-time position is between $45/hr to $70/hr.
