The Senior Credit Specialist is an essential tactical player in safeguarding the company’s assets while facilitating sales growth. Reporting to the Credit Manager, this role is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the credit granting process, actively reviewing existing customer accounts, and assisting in the assessment of potential customers. This position demands a high level of accuracy, a customer-centric approach to collections, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to support the optimization of sales while keeping bad debt losses to a minimum.
As a Senior Credit Specialist with 5+ years of relevant experience, you will serve as a key player in
safeguarding the company's financial assets while actively facilitating commercial sales growth. Reporting to the Credit Manager, this role is responsible for leading advanced credit granting processes, managing enterprise risk across high-value portfolios, executing complex account reconciliations, and driving crossfunctional alignment. This position demands deep analytical capability, a proactive approach to collections and risk management, and strong collaboration with Sales and Finance leaders
How You’ll Contribute:
- Credit Decisioning: Evaluate the initial creditworthiness of new and existing customers by processing credit applications, pulling credit reports, and gathering necessary financial statements and industry data for management review.
- Policy Enforcement: Execute daily credit operations with strict adherence to established credit and collection policies, ensuring a constant balance between risk mitigation and business growth.
- Account Reconciliation: Investigate and resolve customer account discrepancies, including unapplied cash, short payments, credit memos, and misapplied funds, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the accounts receivable ledger.
- Workflow & Task Management: Efficiently manage daily assigned tasks and system queues, taking ownership of designated portfolios and routing specific action items or escalated cases to appropriate internal departments (e.g., Sales, Billing) for prompt resolution.
- Relationship Management: Collaborate closely and professionally with the Sales Department to gather required documentation, communicate account statuses, and support the smooth onboarding of key accounts.
- Compliance: Ensure all individual credit and collection activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal SOX control requirements and Segregation of Duties (SoD).
What You'll Bring to Xometry:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management, corporate collections, or accounts receivable management, preferably within a B2B technology marketplace, manufacturing, or supply chain environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent practical field experience.
- Financial Acumen: Strong expertise in financial statement analysis (Balance Sheet, IncomeStatement, Cash Flow) and utilizing commercial credit reports (e.g., DUNS) for credit decisioning.
- System Proficiency: Demonstrated hands-on experience navigating workflows in modern enterprise CRM and ERP platforms; strong familiarity with Salesforce (SFDC) and Sage Intacct is a strong advantage.
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to execute complex account reconciliations, resolve escalated billing disputes, and optimize the Order-to-Cash (O2C) workflow.
- Regulatory & Control Knowledge: Solid understanding of maintaining strict audit trails and working within SOX compliance environments in B2B financial structures.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a track record of diplomatic, effective negotiation with high-value clients and internal partners.
