About Starfish Space

Starfish Space provides satellite servicing missions with its Otter servicing vehicle, including life extension missions for geostationary satellites and disposal missions for low Earth orbit satellites. Founded in 2019, Starfish has raised over $150M in venture capital funding and built a team of engineers with experience spanning satellite guidance, navigation, control, and autonomous robotics. Starfish has launched several missions to-date, and is focused on delivering Otter satellite servicing missions for SES, the U.S. Space Force, the Space Development Agency, NASA, and others.

Position Description

At Starfish Space we're building our Otter satellites to execute satellite servicing missions for NASA, the U.S. Space Force, and SES, and more, and looking for a technician to assist our engineering teams in manufacturing key flight hardware for these missions. This role will contribute to our on-site assembly, qualification, and integration efforts, relying on comfort with hardware and manufacturing equipment, ownership and resourcefulness, and a fast approach to learning and solving problems. This is a unique opportunity to help build hardware that will go to space rapidly and change what is possible for humanity to accomplish in orbit.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US person due to ITAR regulations (citizen, permanent resident, or designated asylee / refugee)

  • Willing and able to work in aerospace manufacturing facilities in the Littleton, CO area

  • Previous experience with wire harnessing, machining, or other manufacturing processes

  • Capable of working a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment where job tasks may change regularly

  • Prior experience assembling hardware / assisting with a manufacturing process

Desired Experience

  • Previous exposure to aerospace manufacturing environments a bonus

  • High level of professionalism and integrity

  • Willingness to travel and work irregular hours as project timelines demand

ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
