Who we need

Reporting to the Global Head of Revenue Operations, we are hiring a Sales Compensation Manager to own and manage our global sales compensation process from end to end. As our new Sales Compensation Manager, you will design and administer compensation plans and quota methodologies, analyze sales performance, calculate commissions, and coordinate quarterly payouts. You will partner across Sales, Finance, HR, IT, and Legal to ensure compensation plans are structured to support business objectives, align with revenue reporting, and provide leaders with the insights they need to make informed decisions. You will also help modernize and automate our compensation processes, reducing manual work and building more scalable, accurate, and efficient approaches as the business evolves.

This is a remote role based in the United States, with a preference for candidates located near our Houston, New York, or Chicago offices.

What’s in it for you

Ownership and influence. You will own the sales compensation process end to end, with the autonomy to shape plan design, quota methodologies, administration, and reporting. Your work will directly influence how sales performance is measured and rewarded, and you will partner with senior leaders across Sales, Finance, HR, IT, and Legal to ensure compensation strategies support revenue goals and the behaviours the business wants to drive.

Transformation and impact. You will have the opportunity to rethink and modernize a compensation process that is currently highly manual. From improving how data moves between systems to exploring automation and AI-enabled approaches, you will help build more scalable, accurate, and efficient processes that improve both the seller experience and the quality of information available to leadership.

Breadth and growth. While sales compensation will be your primary focus, you will be part of a small, global Revenue Operations team with exposure to the broader commercial organization. Outside of peak compensation cycles, you will have opportunities to contribute to forecasting, pipeline and opportunity analysis, sales enablement, and other Revenue Operations priorities, expanding your understanding of how a global recurring-revenue business operates and grows.

As our new Sales Compensation Manager, you will:

  • Design sales compensation plans and quotas. You will develop and evolve sales incentive plans and quota methodologies that align with revenue targets, business priorities, and the behaviours the organization wants to drive. You will model different scenarios, assess plan effectiveness and cost implications, and bring forward recommendations that help leaders make informed compensation decisions.
  • Own compensation administration and payouts. You will manage the sales compensation cycle from plan configuration and sales credit validation through commission calculations, approvals, adjustments, and quarterly payouts. Working closely with HR, Finance, and Sales, you will ensure compensation is calculated accurately, issues are resolved thoughtfully, and sellers have clear and timely information.
  • Turn data into insight. You will bring together data from Salesforce, Workday, Power BI, Databricks, and other sources to analyze sales performance, calculate compensation, and create meaningful reporting. You will develop metrics, dashboards, and analyses that give leaders greater visibility into quota attainment, plan performance, sales productivity, and compensation costs.
  • Manage and optimize compensation systems. You will serve as a business subject matter expert for Xactly, managing plan configurations, rules, formulas, reporting, and compensation processing. You will ensure compensation plans and processes are structured to support reliable reporting and create a trusted source of information for sellers and leaders.
  • Build scalable, reliable processes. You will identify opportunities to automate and standardize manual workflows, improve accuracy, shorten processing cycles, and strengthen the seller experience. You will establish clear governance, controls, documentation, and audit-ready processes while exploring how emerging technologies, including AI, can improve the way compensation is administered.
  • Partner across the business. You will work closely with Sales, Finance, HR, IT, Legal, and Revenue Operations leaders to translate business objectives into practical compensation approaches. You will communicate plan changes clearly, respond to compensation questions and escalations, and build trusted relationships that help compensation programs operate effectively across the organization.

You bring:

  • The sales compensation expertise. You have deep experience designing and administering sales compensation programs, including incentive plan design, quota methodologies, commission calculations, and payouts. You understand how to structure plans that reinforce business priorities and desired sales behaviours while remaining practical to administer, measure, and report against.
  • The analytical skills. You are comfortable working across complex financial and sales data to perform calculations, validate results, identify trends, and translate findings into meaningful insights. You can query and bring together information from financial databases, CRM platforms, and reporting tools to support compensation decisions and ensure accuracy.
  • The systems knowledge. You have hands-on experience with a sales compensation platform such as Xactly or similar systems and can confidently work with plan configurations, rules, formulas, and reporting. Experience working with Salesforce, Workday, Power BI, Databricks, or similar tools will help you quickly navigate our technology environment.
  • The business understanding. You understand the nuances of sales compensation within recurring-revenue business models and can connect compensation design to revenue targets, sales performance, and broader commercial objectives. Exposure to software, data, or professional services environments, where revenue recognition and future service delivery can add complexity to compensation decisions, is an asset.
  • The autonomy and judgement. You can take ownership of complex compensation questions, anticipate decisions that need to be made, and bring forward thoughtful recommendations rather than waiting for direction. You are comfortable working through ambiguity, balancing competing considerations, and applying sound judgement when exceptions or new scenarios arise.
  • The communication and partnership skills. You can build trusted relationships across Sales, Finance, HR, IT, Legal, and senior leadership. You communicate compensation decisions and complex information clearly, approach questions and escalations thoughtfully and fairly, and can influence stakeholders while remaining open to different perspectives and business needs.
