Job description

Our Opportunity:

Fetch’s Operations team creates a safe environment both Over the Road (OTR) and Under the Roof (UTR) that supports safe, efficient, and healthy behaviors while empowering employees to take a proactive role in strengthening our safety culture.

We’re seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative Safety Coordinator to support our Health, Safety, and Environmental programs. Safety at Fetch is a team effort: this role depends as much on relationships as it does on regulations. You’ll partner daily with warehouse associates, drivers, supervisors, and department leaders to make the safe way the easy way.

Job Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with site leadership and operations teams to implement OSHA and other requirements and reinforce safety culture.
  • Partner with Transportation, Human Resources, and Facilities to build safe work practices into daily operations, working side by side with supervisors to solve safety problems together.
  • Conduct and document routine site inspections and audits, identify hazards and risk conditions, and ensure corrective actions are assigned, implemented, and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Support compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and environmental regulations, including OSHA 300/300A recordkeeping and driver qualification files.
  • Support incident and near-miss investigations, documenting findings meticulously, identifying root causes, and following up on corrective action plans.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for safety communications: deliver toolbox talks, cascade critical information from the Safety Manager to frontline teams, and support targeted training initiatives and emergency preparedness activities, as applicable.
  • Deliver new hire safety orientation and recurring training on forklift safety, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and ergonomics.
  • Chair the safety committee, including scheduling, agenda development, meeting minutes, and action item tracking.
  • Monitor inspection and audit findings, ensure appropriate corrective actions are in place, and report their status and required training completion to leadership.
  • Compile and share safety metrics (TRIR, DART, near-miss rates, open findings) and support special safety projects and pilot programs.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and passion for health and safety and employee well-being.
  • Build trust and partner effectively with everyone from frontline associates and drivers to senior leadership, gaining buy-in through credibility and relationships rather than authority.
  • Approachable and visible on the floor, so that employees raise hazards and concerns early and openly.
  • Organize and manage tasks and priorities with precision and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to accurately perceive issues and provide expertise to solve issues that arise.
  • Understand and can demonstrate issue identification, resolution, tracking, and reporting.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers and various software.
  • What you'll need:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of experience, OR 3+ years in all aspects of safety — OSHA, DOT compliance, safety policy and procedure development, and loss control.
  • 1+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, project coordination, or a related field.
  • OSHA 30-Hour and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or the ability to obtain both within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to conduct training and influence teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets our insurability standards; able to travel up to 25%.
  • Flexibility regarding shifts and working hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call incident response.
  • Nice to have:
  • CHST, OHST, certification
  • EHS or fleet telematics software experience
  • Forklift train-the-trainer
  • Multi-site operations experience
  • Conversational proficiency in Spanish
  • Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Regularly walks, stands, bends, kneels, reaches, and climbs stairs and ladders while conducting inspections
  • Occasional lifts or carries up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in an active warehouse, dock, and yard environment with exposure to moving powered industrial equipment, elevated noise levels, and seasonal temperature variation
  • Use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including (but not limited to) safety footwear and high-visibility apparel.
  • Ability to travel to other sites and perform ride-alongs with drivers as part of necessary OTR observations.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
  • Other Duties:
