Position Description:

The Eating Anxiety and Treatment laboratory in the Department of Psychology at the University of Louisville is seeking a full-time Research Coordinator V (40 hours/week). The position primarily involves assisting with clinical and observational studies centered around the topic of eating disorders and is responsible for supporting research and compliance operations by coordinating protocol activities, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring adherence to institutional, federal, and program-specific regulations. Works collaboratively with investigators, staff, and external partners to facilitate efficient workflows, monitor quality, and support ethical and compliant research or program practices


Essential Duties Include:

  • Review proposals, submissions, or project materials for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable regulations and institutional policies.
  • Maintain and update documentation, databases, and records to support audit readiness and regulatory reporting.
  • Coordinate research program or protocol activities, including activation, monitoring, data collection, stakeholder communication, and ongoing quality control.
  • Serve as a resource to faculty, staff, trainees, or external partners by providing guidance on forms, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with assessments, data collection, inspections, and monitoring activities, compiling findings and supporting follow‑up actions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support project implementation, training, and communication needs.
  • Supervise undergraduate and/or graduate assistants.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer Masters-level background in psychology, public health, or allied health sciences with at least 2 years of professional experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., research compliance, human or animal subjects oversight, cultural resource management, or similar).
  • Knowledge of federal regulations and guidelines such as IRB, IACUC, FDA, OHRP, USDA, or NAGPRA depending on program area.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret regulations and convey requirements clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Interest in psychological research, experiences working with clinical populations, strong technical and computer skills, and a commitment of at least 2 years (extendable depending on fit and availability of funding). We are especially interested in applicants who are sociable, self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret guidelines and ensure operational compliance.
  • Maintains high accuracy in documentation, data entry, and record‑keeping. Identifies discrepancies and ensures completeness and audit readiness.
  • Manages multiple priorities, deadlines, and documentation workflows efficiently. Maintains structured systems to track progress and responsibilities.
  • Requires very good competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS, Redcap, as well as the ability to communicate with clinical and non-clinical populations.
  • Additionally, this position requires good competency in following detailed research protocols to collect data and supervise undergraduate and graduate research assistants.

Please note that any selected candidate's hire date may be effective no earlier than January 5, 2027.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$72,389.00

Target Compensation Minimum:

$48,225.00

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
