About the Role
As a Propulsion Test Technician, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of propulsion system test hardware to ensure the reliability and performance of Hermeus aircraft engines. This position will collaborate in a cross functional working environment and contribute to the development of cutting-edge aerospace technologies.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development, maintenance, and operations of propulsion test hardware (including facilities and test rigs).
Participate in test operations, including configuration of high pressure, hazardous, fluid systems, connecting instrumentation, controlling hazardous areas, troubleshooting instrumentation and test hardware, and monitoring test video and data.
Build, test, modify, and inspect test articles.
Build, modify, and troubleshoot new or existing test equipment which ranges from fluid systems, mechanical assemblies, data and control systems, and instrumentation.
Requirements
High school diploma, associate degree, or equivalent certificate
Experience in hardware assembly, test, and/or facility/infrastructure build-out
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to read and provide feedback on technical documents
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Willing to travel to support propulsion/flight test campaigns
Available to work overtime and weekends
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience in a startup development environment
Experience working in a flight/propulsion development program
A&P license is preferred, but not required
Hands-on experience integrating hardware (aerospace or other industry)
Knowledge/experience with AN (JIC) and Swagelok fluid connections
Experience with Fabricating and assembling pneumatic and fluid systems; including bending/flaring/assembling of stainless-steel tubing
Knowledge/experience working with electrical components and systems
Jet engine test cell experience
