About the Role

As a Lead Pricing Actuary on our EMEA Insurance Team, you will own the pricing analysis and recommendations for our diverse range of insurance products.To excel in this position, you should be a qualified or nearly qualified Actuary, deeply passionate about technology and innovation in product development.

As the Lead Actuary, your main task involves conducting pricing and performance analysis for Cover Genius's current and upcoming protection offerings. Essential to success is your ability to collaborate consistently with both internal teams and external stakeholders, including underwriters, to deliver innovative partner solutions satisfying key growth and profitability objectives.
What will your day look like? You will...
  • Work closely with the Insurance and Partnerships team to design and implement our unique insurance products. The key focus will be on the development of pricing models, reflecting competitive and commercial considerations from our partners and underwriters.
  • Provide pricing insights and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders to support business decisions.
  • Develop strong and trusted relationships with underwriters, and lead pricing recommendation discussions with insurers underwriting and actuarial teams.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of product strategy through pricing to achieve business objectives, with a keen eye towards ensuring rate adequacy and overall underwriting profitability whilst maximising CG revenue.
  • Application of actuarial techniques to support the ongoing performance monitoring and management of partners and underwriters.
  • Assist in the production of loss ratios and other key insurance metrics for different product / market segments including ongoing reserving requirements.
  • Leading and motivating team of Actuaries to ensure departmental objectives are being met.
  • What you will bring;
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science.
  • Qualified actuary, or currently making good progress with examinations through the Institute of Actuaries (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in General Insurance lines of business.
  • Experience in development and implementation of Reserving methodologies for GI lines.
  • Strong technical, analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong SQL and Excel skills.
  • Programming skills in R and/or Python skills desirable.
  • Results driven focus with an emphasis on producing outstanding results.
