Our challenge:

We are seeking an experienced HyperExecute Engineer to design, configure, and optimize automated test execution using LambdaTest HyperExecute. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in HyperExecute YAML configuration, test orchestration, parallel and sharded execution, Selenium and Playwright grid optimization, artifact management, and Result Logger integration. The successful candidate will work closely with QA, automation, DevOps, and development teams to improve test execution speed, reliability, scalability, and reporting across multiple application environments.



Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below)



The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain HyperExecute YAML files for automated test execution.
  • Configure test orchestration workflows for multiple frameworks, environments, browsers, operating systems, and application versions.
  • Implement and optimize parallel, concurrent, and sharded test execution.
  • Configure test discovery, execution commands, environment variables, profiles, retries, timeouts, and failure-handling strategies.
  • Optimize Selenium and Playwright test suites for execution on HyperExecute’s cloud-based grid.
  • Configure browser, platform, resolution, device, and capability matrices for cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
  • Analyze and tune grid utilization, concurrency, queue time, session allocation, and overall execution performance.
  • Configure test splitting and sharding strategies to achieve balanced workload distribution and faster feedback.
  • Integrate HyperExecute with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Manage test artifacts, including screenshots, videos, logs, reports, traces, network logs, and other debugging outputs.
  • Configure artifact collection, naming, retention, download, and storage processes.
  • Integrate HyperExecute execution results with Result Logger and other test reporting or observability platforms.
  • Ensure test status, logs, metadata, failure details, and execution history are accurately published to Result Logger.
  • Develop scripts and utilities for triggering executions, monitoring jobs, retrieving artifacts, and processing test results.
  • Troubleshoot failed, skipped, timed-out, flaky, and infrastructure-related test executions.
  • Investigate issues related to browser sessions, grid connectivity, test discovery, capability configuration, synchronization, and resource allocation.
  • Implement retry and rerun strategies while ensuring that test reporting remains accurate and traceable.
  • Monitor test execution trends and identify opportunities to improve stability, coverage, and runtime.
  • Collaborate with automation engineers to make test suites compatible with distributed and parallel execution.
  • Document HyperExecute architecture, YAML templates, integration processes, troubleshooting procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Support onboarding, knowledge transfer, and training for QA and development teams.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in test automation, QA engineering, SDET, or DevOps engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with LambdaTest HyperExecute.
  • Strong experience writing and maintaining HyperExecute YAML configuration files.
  • Experience with test orchestration, job configuration, environment setup, and CI/CD execution.
  • Proven experience implementing parallel and sharded test execution.
  • Strong knowledge of Selenium and/or Playwright automation frameworks.
  • Experience configuring browser and platform capabilities for cloud-based test grids.
  • Understanding of test-suite balancing, concurrency management, retries, timeouts, and execution optimization.
  • Experience collecting and managing test artifacts such as screenshots, videos, logs, and reports.
  • Experience integrating test results with Result Logger or similar reporting platforms.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as: Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.


Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience integrating HyperExecute with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or Harness.
  • Experience with Selenium Grid, Playwright workers, browser capabilities, and distributed execution.
  • Knowledge of Playwright trace collection, video recording, screenshots, and network logging.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and scripting for HyperExecute job management.
  • Experience with test reporting tools such as Allure, ReportPortal, Extent Reports, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of Docker and containerized test execution.
