Job Description

Opportunity Overview:

We are seeking a Director of Data & AI to join our product development team. In this role, you will lead world-class analytics, data science, and machine learning teams to enable clinical insights and precision AI. You’ll partner closely with product, design, and software engineering to drive the research and development of data-centric solutions. 

As a member of the leadership team, you’ll work closely with business and AI partners across the globe to co-create solutions and drive the seamless execution of critical initiatives. You’ll have the opportunity to apply deep analytics and AI expertise to deliver products that transform healthcare. You’ll foster a culture of innovation, champion Cohere’s values and leadership principle, and guide a team of engineers, analysts, and scientists to leverage complex healthcare data and methodologies in a fast-paced, rapidly-evolving landscape answering critical business and clinical questions. By combining modern analytic tools, methodologies, and AI technologies to meet challenging and open-ended business requests, this crucial role molds our analysis and builds data-driven analytics products. 

What you’ll do:

  • Recruit and build high-caliber machine learning, data science, and business intelligence development team
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and manage engineering teams, including recruitment, mentorship, and performance evaluation.
    • Nurture a collaborative and innovative culture within the team and throughout the organization
    • Develop and implement strategic plans for the Data & AI department in alignment with the company’s goals
    • Ownership and accountability of key quality and delivery metrics of the Data & AI solutions, including time to value, model accuracy, etc.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Partner with Cohere Health’s US-based Data & AI team and assure consistent technical strategy, aligned roadmaps, and value-centric delivery approaches.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional product, clinical, and engineering partners to understand their needs, recommend solution approaches, and develop execution strategies
  • Innovation and Delivery
    • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of analytic and AI solution developments
    • Identify opportunities for technological advancements, applicable technical patterns, and innovation.
    • Direct an innovation pipeline from experimentations, to development, to maturation
    • Provide technical guidance, managing timeline, and ensuring quality and scalability of deliverables 
    • Foster a data-driven decision-making culture and prioritize responsible AI

Required Qualifications:

Must-haves

  • 8+ years of management experience hiring and developing data-centric development teams
  • 12+ years of experience in data science and machine learning
  • Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning
  • Proven success in growing and managing geographically distributed teams and fostering multi-functional collaborations
  • Track record of translating complex business problems into end-to-end data analytics products with a quantifiable business impact
  • Demonstrated success in maturing machine learning prototypes into scalable software
  • Experience with US managed care design and operations

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong preference for healthcare experience, specifically experience in Utilization Management, Payment Integrity, Risk Adjustment and Quality Measures
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale healthcare administrative and clinical data
  • Familiarity with healthcare body codesets, terminology and ontology
  • Prior experience in B2B enterprise SaaS startup

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Hyderabad, Telangana*: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

ISMS roles and responsibilities:

  • Good knowledge of Information security
  • Oversee specific business processes within the ISMS.
  • Responsible to manage the ISMS documentation, conduct risk assessments, and implement risk treatment plans.
  • Risk Owners are responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing risks within their areas of responsibility.
  • They are also responsible for implementing risk treatment plans.
  • Conduct the BCP and other test related to information security continuity along with CISO
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting on the performance of the ISMS.
  • Responsible for implementation of security policies and procedures and report any issues to the CISO.
