Job title
Credit Operations & Control Desk Analyst (Analista de Operações de Crédito e Mesa de Controle) – São Paulo (Hybrid)
Job location
Sao Paulo / SP / Brazil
Job description

Clara is the leading platform in Latin America for companies to execute and manage every payment operation. More than 50,000 leading and fast-growing businesses run on our corporate cards, bill pay, financing and B2B payments, and in 2025 the Financial Times named Clara the region’s fastest-growing company. We’re passionate about helping every company we work with become more effective—and, through that, raising the region’s competitiveness. We’re ~400 people, backed by Notable Capital, Coatue, Kaszek, monashees, DST Global, ICONIQ, General Catalyst and Goldman Sachs, among others.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Credit Operations & Control Desk Analyst to support the safe, efficient, and scalable growth of Clara’s credit portfolio in Brazil.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring that business customers are properly onboarded, credit approval conditions are met, and operational risks are identified and addressed before credit facilities are activated.
You’ll work closely with Credit, Risk, Sales, Compliance, Legal, and Technology teams to ensure accurate execution of credit processes, strong internal controls, and a seamless customer experience.
We’re looking for someone with a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. You’ll have the opportunity to challenge existing processes, identify opportunities for automation, and contribute to building scalable credit operations.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Operations & Onboarding
  • Review and validate corporate, legal, and financial documentation throughout the customer onboarding and credit activation process.
  • Verify company registration information (CNPJ), corporate structures, legal representatives, powers of attorney, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure that credit approval conditions, documentation requirements, and internal policies are fulfilled before credit facilities are activated.
  • Monitor automated onboarding workflows, identify exceptions, and ensure accurate and timely case resolution.
  • Coordinate with Credit, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Sales teams to resolve pending requirements and operational issues.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
  • Identify inconsistencies, potential fraud indicators, documentation gaps, and operational risks, ensuring timely escalation when necessary.
  • Support KYC, KYB, and CDD controls in coordination with Compliance, ensuring adherence to internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, supporting evidence, and audit trails to ensure transparency and traceability.
  • Apply sound judgment to determine when cases can proceed, require additional validation, or must be escalated for further review.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of preventive controls to minimize operational and credit-related risks.
Process Improvement & Automation
  • Identify bottlenecks, recurring issues, and opportunities to simplify and improve operational workflows.
  • Collaborate with Technology and other stakeholders to support process automation, system enhancements, and testing of new solutions.
  • Monitor operational KPIs, turnaround times, and SLAs, contributing to improvements in efficiency and service quality.
  • Document procedures, operational controls, and exception-handling processes to support consistency and scalability.
  • Leverage data and AI-powered tools to improve accuracy, reduce manual activities, and strengthen operational controls.
What Success Looks Like
  • Credit onboarding and activation processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established SLAs.
  • Credit approval conditions and documentation requirements are consistently verified before activation.
  • Operational risks, inconsistencies, and exceptions are identified and escalated in a timely manner.
  • Internal controls, documentation quality, and audit readiness are continuously strengthened.
  • Manual processes and recurring operational issues are reduced through automation and continuous improvement.
Who you are

We’re looking for someone who combines analytical thinking, strong execution skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating across teams. You take ownership of your responsibilities, challenge inefficient processes, and understand the importance of balancing operational efficiency with risk management.

Must Haves
  • 2+ years of experience in Credit Operations, Credit Formalization, Control Desk, Financial Operations, or related roles within banks, fintechs, financial institutions, or similar fields.
  • Experience working with corporate clients (B2B/PJ), including the review and validation of corporate and legal documentation.
  • Understanding of credit onboarding processes, internal controls, and operational risk management.
  • Familiarity with KYC/KYB requirements and customer due diligence processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify inconsistencies and potential risks.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including data analysis and operational reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases while meeting established SLAs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and intermediate English proficiency.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience in B2B lending, corporate credit, or credit products within a fintech environment.
  • Knowledge of Brazilian corporate documentation, credit agreements, and guarantee formalization.
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and basic credit risk indicators.
  • Familiarity with BI tools, SQL, workflow automation, or operational dashboards.
  • Experience identifying fraud indicators or supporting fraud prevention controls.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their application to operational efficiency and process improvement.
  • Basic Spanish proficiency or willingness to learn.
  • A good sense of humor

Where we work

This is a hybrid role: you'll split your time between the office, customers and home. We don't set a minimum number of office days for most roles — you'll spend time in the office naturally, and most days during your ramp-up or when your leader asks.

Why Clara

  • A high talent-density team driven to make an impact in Latin America — low ego, high ownership.
  • Competitive salary and stock options (ESOP) from day one.
  • An annual learning budget and accelerated development paths.
  • English is our working language, with Spanish and Portuguese every day.

How we work

  • Clarity — Open and direct communication: we say what we mean and give context where it matters.
  • Simplicity — If it can be simpler, it should be.
  • Ownership — We own everything we do, end to end. When something needs to happen, we don't wait.
  • Pride — We hold ourselves to a high standard, and it shows in what we deliver.
  • ABC (Always Be Changing) — We adapt fast, embrace change, and keep learning.
  • Inclusivity — Diverse ideas, stories and perspectives build a better Clara.

If you meet the must-haves, apply — the nice-to-haves are a bonus, not a requirement.
