Job description

Clara is the leading platform in Latin America for companies to execute and manage every payment operation. More than 50,000 leading and fast-growing businesses run on our corporate cards, bill pay, financing and B2B payments, and in 2025 the Financial Times named Clara the region’s fastest-growing company. We’re passionate about helping every company we work with become more effective—and, through that, raising the region’s competitiveness. We’re ~400 people, backed by Notable Capital, Coatue, Kaszek, monashees, DST Global, ICONIQ, General Catalyst and Goldman Sachs, among others.

What you'll do

We're looking for a Product Lead, Risk to lead our new Risk squad within the Biz Ops tribe. Risk Management is a strategic lever for Clara’s growth. Segmenting, profiling and tailoring Clara’s offer with excellence is what allows us to scale rapidly across LatAm, while keeping cost at bay.

The Risk Squad owns all internal products and platforms used by the Credit Risk, Fraud Risk and Compliance Risk teams to automatically evaluate prospects and clients.

As the Product Lead for this squad, you will report to the Group Product Manager and partner directly with senior Engineers and UX Designers, plus Credit , Fraud, Compliance, and Data Science teams. You will own the full underwriting lifecycle from a product perspective, balancing growth appetite and risk cost.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the entire Risk product surface across both Acquisition and Portfolio Management, including onboarding risk checks, credit line increases/decreases, and internal tools for the Fraud Risk Operations team.
  • Managing the integration layer with Risk vendors (Decisioning Engines, Credit Bureaus, Fraud Prevention Platforms, and ID Validation Vendors), mapping gaps, and making build vs. buy decisions.
  • Create hyper-personalized User Experiences based on runtime Risk model outputs, collaborating with Data Science and Credit Risk teams to design around model uncertainty.
  • Defining and tracking core business metrics, including approval rates, fraud loss rates, credit utilization, credit line adjustment accuracy, and time-to-decision.
  • Accelerating product delivery by writing clear PRDs, managing the product backlog, and driving cross-team alignment without relying on unnecessary meetings.
  • Leverage AI tools and no-code/low-code solutions to prototype and build production-ready apps

What you'll bring

Must-haves for this position include:

  • Product Management Experience: Experience in the Product Management role, both Product Sense and Product Execution. Research, Vision, Strategy, Discovery and Delivery.
  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of credit risk, fraud prevention and/or compliance mechanics. Audience segmentation, KYC/KYB processes, credit scoring, ID verification vendor stacks, and fraud signals (transaction blocking, step-up authentication).
  • Technical Fluency: Conceptual understanding of how a modern fintech stack fits together. Database systems, message queuing, backend (Java/Spring) and frontend (React) dev, CI/CD, Cloud infrastructure and observability. Machine Learning is a plus.
  • Hands-On Builder: Ability to prototype and build production-ready apps using AI tools, and low-code tools such as N8N. Familiarity with GitHub (managing branches, commits, PRs, and reading diffs)
  • Data & Analytics Literacy: Strong analytical skills with the ability to write SQL queries, conduct cohort analysis, design experiments, and build dashboards autonomously
  • Execution & Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; a track record of moving hard business metrics (loss rates, approval rates) and managing cross-functional stakeholders across Legal, Finance, and Data Science.
  • Mindset: High agency, comfort with ambiguity, and comfort operating in a lean, fast-paced squad with high autonomy.

Experience that could help

  • Working proficiency or basic knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese, with a desire to learn.
  • Product experience within LatAm fintech markets, specifically dealing with credit products in Mexico, Colombia, or Brazil.

Where you'll work

This is a remote-first role: you'll work from home day to day. You'll ramp up in person with the team, and come together in person for team moments, events and customer visits through the year.

Why Clara

  • A high talent-density team driven to make an impact in Latin America — low ego, high ownership.
  • Competitive salary and stock options (ESOP) from day one.
  • An annual learning budget and accelerated development paths.
  • English is our working language, with Spanish and Portuguese every day.

How we work

  • Clarity — Open and direct communication: we say what we mean and give context where it matters.
  • Simplicity — If it can be simpler, it should be.
  • Ownership — We own everything we do, end to end. When something needs to happen, we don't wait.
  • Pride — We hold ourselves to a high standard, and it shows in what we deliver.
  • ABC (Always Be Changing) — We adapt fast, embrace change, and keep learning.
  • Inclusivity — Diverse ideas, stories and perspectives build a better Clara.

If you meet the must-haves, apply — the nice-to-haves are a bonus, not a requirement.
