Terawatt is the leader in delivering large-scale, turnkey charging solutions for companies rapidly deploying AV and EV fleets. The company develops, finances, owns, and operates charging solutions that take the cost and complexity out of electrifying fleets.
At Terawatt, we execute humbly and with urgency to provide tailored solutions for fleets that delight our clients and support the transition of transportation.
Role Description

The Construction Project Engineer will play a meaningful role in developing the EV charging infrastructure that powers the transition to electrified transport. Working closely with Senior Construction Project Managers, Project Managers, Development Managers, Real Estate and Utility teams, you will support site development campaigns and advanced development & construction activities across a portfolio of select sites. This includes permitting, utility interconnection, engineering and design, and construction contractor engagement.

You bring a foundational background in engineering, construction management, or site development — and you're eager to grow it. You think critically, communicate clearly, and can move fluidly between quantitative analysis and external stakeholder engagement. You are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects with competing priorities.

In this role, you will develop proficiency in project controls tools including Procore and Smartsheets, supporting Senior PMs in the management of project schedules, budgets, and reporting. As you build expertise, you will take on increasing ownership and grow alongside a team committed to delivering world-class EV charging solutions for fleet and heavy-duty truck operators nationwide.

Core Responsibilities
  • Support the development and maintenance of project control tools, including project schedules and budgets

  • Identify and help address potential issues and manage tasks to advance site development activities

  • Research and evaluate site-specific information necessary to achieve project development goals, including market conditions, site constraints, and feasibility inputs

  • Identify project constraints and support the development of mitigation solutions

  • Analyze various elements required to deliver a viable site and contribute to schedule recommendations for completion timelines

  • Prepare and provide site documentation to internal teams and key stakeholders

  • Support the breakdown of projects into achievable tasks and assist in managing schedules and workflows

  • Schedule regular meetings and maintain accurate records and decisions through meeting notes

  • Support quality assurance by ensuring deliverables meet Terawatt’s standards

  • Participate in expense management and reporting processes

  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across Development, Business Development, Product, Energy & Utilities, Technology, Site Operations, and Finance teams.

  • Serve as an advocate for the electrification of transport and Terawatt’s role in making it happen

  • Travel as needed (anticipated to be under 30%) to project sites for consultation, progress updates, and issue resolution.

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in construction, project management or site development.

  • Foundational understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and documentation

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail

  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Smartsheets and Google Workspace

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Procore for construction project management

  • Exposure to permitting, utility interconnection, or site development processes

  • Basic understanding of electrical, civil, or construction systems

  • Interest in or experience with EV, energy storage, or renewable energy infrastructure
