Job description

Why Socure?

Socure is building the identity trust infrastructure for the digital economy — verifying 100% of good identities in real time and stopping fraud before it starts. The mission is big, the problems are complex, and the impact is felt by businesses, governments, and millions of people every day.

We hire people who want that level of responsibility. People who move fast, think critically, act like owners, and care deeply about solving customer problems with precision. If you want predictability or narrow scope, this won’t be your place. If you want to help build the future of identity with a team that holds a high bar for itself — keep reading.

Compliance Operations Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

The line between compliance and technology is disappearing. Financial institutions no longer treat AML programs as a checkbox exercise — they are demanding platforms that embed regulatory intelligence directly into their screening, monitoring, and investigation workflows. Socure is building that platform, and we are looking for a Compliance Operations Manager to be the compliance mind behind it.

This role sits at the center of a four-way intersection: the evolving regulatory landscape, our product and technology teams, our go-to-market motion, and our customers' compliance programs. You will be the compliance partner to engineering and data science, developing the rigorous frameworks, taxonomies, and methodologies that power the context layer underlying our AML platform and features. As regulations evolve — across OFAC, FATF, FinCEN, and international equivalents — you will translate that landscape into product strategy and help shape what Socure builds next.

Beyond internal product work, you will help build Socure's professional services and advisory capability: a program designed to help our customers develop and mature their own AML programs using Socure's platform. You will shape the structure of that program, the partnerships that extend its reach, and the operational model that makes it scalable — positioning Socure as a true compliance partner, not just a technology vendor.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Compliance Frameworks & Context Layer

  • Maintain rigorous frameworks, taxonomies, and methodologies that power the compliance context layer underlying Socure's AML platform — including country risk ratings, sanctions type classification, PEP categorization, and adverse media signal standards – as regulatory guidance, customer requirements, and global coverage expand.

  • Partner with Data Science and Engineering to ensure compliance intelligence is accurately represented in Watchlist's data ingestion, entity resolution, and matching systems.

  • Maintain and evolve these frameworks leveraging the latest technologies to scale this context layer

Regulatory Intelligence & Product Strategy

  • Track developments across OFAC, FATF, FinCEN, and international frameworks and translating them into product and roadmap implications.

  • Partner with Product and GTM to shape how regulatory changes become product features, positioning, and customer communications.

  • Engage with regulators, industry bodies, and compliance associations to keep Socure at the forefront of the evolving compliance ecosystem.

Professional Services & Customer Advisory

  • Help design and build Socure's professional services and advisory capability — a program that helps customers develop and mature their AML programs using Socure's platform.

  • Define the structure, partnerships, and operational model that make the advisory program scalable across Socure's growing customer base.

  • Work with Sales and Customer Success to deploy compliance advisory as a differentiator in enterprise deals and customer retention.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the compliance subject matter expert across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Sales, and Customer Success.

  • Support enterprise deals with compliance due diligence, RFP responses, and regulatory inquiry support.

  • Interface directly with customers on complex compliance questions, audit support, and program design guidance.

  • Drive the product roadmap requirements for features that reduce operational complexity for our customers.

  • Develop smart automations using AI and agents that reduce operational burden for our cross-functional partners.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 5–7 years of experience in AML compliance operations, sanctions screening, or financial crime operations at a financial institution, fintech, or compliance technology company.

  • Working knowledge of OFAC sanctions programs, FATF guidance, BSA/AML regulations, and PEP screening standards.

  • Experience maintaining or auditing watchlist and sanctions data sources, including list provenance tracking and quality control.

  • Familiarity with GRC frameworks and AML taxonomy structures: sanctions type classification, PEP categories, adverse media signals, and country risk ratings.

  • Hands-on technical operator that is able to leverage technology to improve customer experience and scale operations.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage operational processes with rigorous documentation.

  • Effective communicator across technical (Engineering, Data Science) and non-technical (Sales, Compliance Buyers) stakeholders.

  • CAMS certification or equivalent AML compliance credential preferred.

You must be located in one of our talent hubs: New York, San Francisco, Seattle, or Miami.
