Job Title
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Job Location
Ann Arbor, MI
Job Description

Zarminali Pediatrics is building the nation's leading pediatric multispecialty group, focused on supporting families to shape healthy futures for their children – from birth through adulthood – by completely transforming the way pediatric care is delivered nationwide. We are tackling today's challenges of increased administrative burden on clinicians and a siloed approach to pediatric care through intentional design of care delivery, enhanced by leading technology and collaborative, expert care teams.

Our name, inspired by our founder's daughter's name – Zarmina – means “something that is more precious to you than gold”. We couldn’t think of anything that better represents the way parents and caregivers hold the relationship with their children as the most valuable gift, and how we at Zarminali approach care for each child with equal reverence.

We strive for a healthier future for pediatric patients and a happier future for pediatric clinicians nationwide, and we are looking for people to join us in achieving this vision. If you are eager to join a growth stage company and be part of the early team that is shaping the foundation of both the company and the delivery of pediatric care, then this opportunity might be for you!

POSITION OVERVIEW

Zarminali Pediatrics is seeking a compassionate Pediatric Psychiatrist to join our team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This role is embedded within our integrative primary care model, partnering closely with pediatricians, behavioral health clinicians, and families to deliver coordinated, child-centered mental health care. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will play a critical role in diagnostic evaluation, medication management, and advancing comprehensive, team-based behavioral health services.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Pediatric Psychiatrist at Zarminali, you will focus on:

  • Psychiatric Evaluation & Treatment: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, establish diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
  • Medication Management: Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications in collaboration with families and the integrated care team.
  • Patient Population: Provide care primarily to patients ages 5-18
  • Whole-Child Mental Health: Support emotional, behavioral, and developmental wellbeing through early identification, evidence-based psychiatric care, and prevention-focused interventions.
  • Family Engagement & Education: Partner with caregivers to provide education, guidance, and shared decision-making around diagnoses, treatment options, and medication management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with pediatricians, behavioral health clinicians, and multispecialty partners to deliver coordinated, integrated, and holistic care.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory, legal, and organizational standards.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

We’re seeking psychiatrists who are energized by integrated pediatric care and motivated to make a meaningful impact on children and families. At Zarminali, physicians are supported to practice at the top of their license while contributing to an innovative, team-based care environment.

  • Communicator: Builds trust with children and families, communicates clearly and compassionately, and collaborates effectively across disciplines.
  • Clinical Leader: Serves as a psychiatric subject matter expert within an integrated primary care model.
  • Collaborative: Partners closely with pediatricians, therapists, and care team members to support whole-child treatment planning.
  • Environment: Primarily on-site role supporting integrated care, with limited hybrid flexibility for virtual patient visits based on clinical and organizational needs.
  • Tech-Forward: Utilizes technology to support documentation, telepsychiatry, and efficient clinical workflows.
  • Growth-Oriented: Engages in ongoing learning, innovation, and evidence-based psychiatric practice.
  • Family First: Centers care on family values through empathetic, collaborative, and evidence-based guidance.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry; Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship preferred (or strong pediatric-focused experience)
  • Current and unrestricted medical license in Michigan
  • Active DEA
  • Experience evaluating and treating pediatric psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, behavioral disorders, trauma, and adjustment concerns
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, integrated care setting that values coordination between physical and behavioral health

WHAT WE OFFER

  • 100% outpatient care in an integrated setting.
  • Opportunity to help shape an innovative, integrated behavioral health program within primary care
  • Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives and comprehensive benefits
  • A thoughtfully designed, child- and family-centered clinical environment

At Zarminali Pediatrics, we are committed to our empowering clinicians and team members to deliver better pediatric care, altogether. This commitment requires building an inclusive culture and a team that represents the diverse communities we serve.

We believe that when people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives come together, we create a stronger team and better care for our patients and their families. We realize the importance of an environment where clinicians and team members feel cared for, supported, and valued. We believe in the basics: treating everyone with kindness, respect, and fairness.

We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, race, color, sex, gender, age, religion or religious creed, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, physical or mental disability, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

We recruit and hire based on skills, talent, and potential, ensuring everyone has a fair chance to succeed. Together, we strive to build an inclusive and welcoming space where we can achieve our goal of building a happier future for the pediatric workforce.
