Job description

For over 20 years, Smartsheet has empowered teams to manage work seamlessly and scale solutions smarter. Now, in our most ambitious chapter yet, we are uniting human teams with AI agents. By orchestrating the work agents do best, automating manual tasks and uncovering insights at scale, we create the space for people to focus on what truly matters: judgment, creativity, and big thinking. That is magic at work, and it’s what we show up for every day.

Smartsheet is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to generate sales pipeline and drive revenue growth across Southeast Asia. You'll self-source outbound opportunities into named Commercial and Large Enterprise accounts, qualify inbound demand, and set the tone for the sales cycle.

You will work on a hybrid basis from Singapore and will be reporting to the Sr. Manager, Business Development based in Australia.

You Will:

  • Own a named account list across SEA, building territory and account plans jointly with your Account Executives
  • Self-source the majority of your pipeline through proactive outbound prospecting
  • Independently identify target companies and buying-group contacts, and decide the outreach approach across email, LinkedIn, phone and our intent and enrichment tooling
  • Qualify inbound enquiries from your accounts and route them into the right sales motion quickly
  • Multi-thread into senior stakeholders up to VP and C-level, holding credible business-level conversations
  • Build, run and iterate your own outbound sequence campaigns in our sales engagement platform
  • Apply a structured qualification framework to qualify, disqualify and hand over opportunities cleanly
  • Act as the outbound reference point for the Singapore market, feeding messaging, objection and win/loss insight back to the wider APJ sales development team
  • Deliver against a quarterly target for qualified meetings and sourced pipeline, with full activity documented in Salesforce
  • Operate independently in a remote, cross-timezone team, running a full outbound motion

You Have:

  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience in an outbound SDR/BDR or telesales seat, ideally in SaaS or technology
  • A proven track record of quota attainment, with prior results you can speak to such as meetings booked or pipeline sourced
  • Experience prospecting into enterprise or strategic accounts, and comfort holding a conversation with senior stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of a structured qualification methodology and the judgement to apply it independently
  • Salesforce (or equivalent CRM) and a sales engagement platform (Outreach, Salesloft or similar) in daily use from day one
  • The ability to think critically and make decisions independent of managerial oversight
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal well with adversity; remaining driven and resilient
  • Business fluency in English required; Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia or another SEA language highly desirable
  • Legally eligible to work in Singapore on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to travel Internationally if required by the business
  • Other duties as assigned
