Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily backup jobs via dashboards, consoles, and monitoring tools.
• Identify and triage failed, missed, or partial backup jobs.
• Perform initial level troubleshooting for backup job failures.
• Create, assign, and follow up on incident tickets (using tools like Autotask, BMS, ServiceNow, ConnectWise, etc.).
• Escalate critical failures to L2/L3 teams and/or vendor support where applicable.
• Maintain logs, shift handovers, and issue trackers as per SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with defined SLAs, backup policies, and procedures.
• Work closely with storage, server, and application teams for cross-functional issue resolution.
• Generate daily/weekly backup reports and provide insights into recurring problems.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance activities and DR drills when required.

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of experience in IT monitoring or backup operations (for L1); 3–5 years for L2.
• Familiarity with at least one enterprise backup solution (Datto Backup, Shadow Protect, Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, etc.).
• Understanding of backup terminologies: full, incremental, synthetic, snapshot, retention policies.
• Experience with ticketing systems and monitoring tools (Kaseya RMM, SolarWinds, Zabbix, etc. preferred).
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Basic knowledge of Windows/Linux OS and networking fundamentals.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and night shifts.
