Job description

Your Impact

This role is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements while ensuring regulatory compliance, including in the areas of data privacy and cybersecurity. The successful candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, finance, and procurement teams to identify and mitigate risk and ensure contractual obligations align with organizational objectives and legal standards. The role also requires familiarity with Indian laws and includes supporting the broader legal team with compliance-related activities, general corporate work and other initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • End-to-End Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor and procurement contracts, customer and client agreements, and partnership arrangements. Ensure contract terms align with company policies, risk tolerance, and business objectives.
  • Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Support compliance with contract terms, applicable laws, and regulations across multiple jurisdictions (India, US, UK and Canada). Assist in identifying potential legal risks and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
  • General Corporate Work: General Corporate Work: Assist with day-to-day corporate legal matters, including supporting entity management activities, assisting in, corporate governance documentation, and internal policy reviews. Provide basic legal support for routine corporate transactions and respond to internal queries on standard corporate matter.
  • Lifecycle & Database Oversight: Maintain an organized and accurate contract management database. Oversee timely renewals, amendments, and terminations, and track performance metrics to report on contract effectiveness.
  • Legal Guidance & Process Improvement: Provide guidance on general corporate matters. Contribute to the optimization of legal processes by utilizing contract management software and other technology tools.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:  Partner with finance, procurement, and operations teams to facilitate contract execution. Support senior legal team members in managing external legal counsel and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective, high-quality results.

Who You Are

  • Required: With 4+ years of experience in a multinational legal setting. Expert in contract management and corporate general matters, dedicated to providing scalable legal solutions that support international business objectives.
  • Preferred: Experience in working on compliance activities with respect to Indian law including but not limited to labour and employment laws, privacy laws and general corporate laws. 
  • Required: B.A.,LLB from a recognized university. Preferred: B.A.,LLB. and LL.M from a recognized university.

  • Negotiation Skills: ability to manage multiple negotiations simultaneously.
  • Analytical Thinking: Exceptional problem-solving skills with an ability to provide clear, commercial solutions to complex legal issues.
  • Technical Proficiency: Highly proficient in contract management software (CLM) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Policy Development: Ability to assist in developing and implementing internal policies, guidelines, and commercial templates.
