Job title
AI Product Director, FinOps/ITFM
Job location

Job description

About brightfin:

Brightfin is the AI-native enterprise platform helping Fortune 500 and mid-market companies optimize IT spend across IT Financial Management (ITFM), Technology Expense Management (TEM), and FinOps. We are growing aggressively, with a clear and ambitious path ahead. Our customers include large healthcare systems, financial institutions, federal government agencies, and global enterprises spanning both domestic and international markets — organizations where data security and trust are non-negotiable.

Job summary

FinOps AI / ITFM+ — cloud spend and AI cost/usage management — is brightfin's third product pillar, built alongside our core TEM and ITFM/FinOps platform. This is a build-to-scale role. The AI Product Director will land the initial AI SKU and packaging decision, prove it with early design partners, and take revenue from first dollar to meaningful ARR.

Today, the AI Product Director is an individual contributor role. You define the roadmap, make the pricing call, run the design partner engagements, and close the first deals yourself. As the pillar scales and a team is built around it, this role grows into VP, GTM for FinOps AI — owning go-to-market for the pillar, and eventually its P&L as it matures into its own line of business.

The market is moving toward “AI value and ROI” layers stacked on top of legacy cost reporting — the model several legacy vendors are building. brightfin's bet is different: unified cost optimization across every dollar of technology spend, with AI as the mechanism that finds the waste and models the trade-off, not a feature added on top. This role owns proving that bet in market.

What you'll own

Product strategy and positioning

  • Own product strategy and roadmap for FinOps AI / ITFM+, spanning cloud spend and AI cost/usage management.
  • Position the pillar against the market's shift toward “AI value and ROI” layers stacked on top of legacy cost reporting, and make the case for brightfin's unified cost-optimization differentiation instead.

Packaging and pricing

  • Decide packaging: a standalone AI SKU versus embedding AI capability in existing ITFM/TEM SKUs, and build the business case behind each option.
  • Price for outcome and reasoning value, not for model access — a different problem than pricing a standard SaaS feature, and one this role owns end to end.

0-to-1 execution

  • Define the MVP, run design partner engagements, and validate pricing hands-on, without a team, through the pillar's earliest phase.
  • Take the pillar from first dollar of revenue to meaningful ARR, then build the plan for the team and go-to-market motion that follow.

What you'll need

Experience

  • 10+ years of product leadership experience, AI-native: you've built or led a product whose core value proposition is AI — agentic workflows, reasoning or automation, ML-driven decisioning — not a traditional product with AI added later.
  • Product leadership experience at a direct or adjacent competitor in the ITFM/TEM/FinOps space, with firsthand knowledge of how those platforms package and price AI capability.
  • A track record taking an AI-native product from MVP through design partners to $0–10M in revenue, including pricing an AI feature or agent when the underlying model cost isn't the customer's only line item.
  • Real go-to-market ownership, not exposure: you've personally driven ICP definition, pricing and packaging decisions, sales enablement, and competitive positioning — not handed a feature list to marketing and moved on.

Skills and competencies

  • Comfortable operating as an individual contributor through a 0-to-1 phase. This role starts as a solo builder, not a manager of one.
  • Fluent in enterprise requirements: auditability, governance, role-based access, and explainable output. Black-box AI is a disqualifier for our buyers.
  • Ideally, experience displacing an incumbent during an ownership or acquisition disruption window category.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

This isn't the right fit if

  • Your background is roadmap and backlog product management, without pricing or GTM ownership.
  • Your AI experience is limited to shipping prompts or features, without ever making a packaging or monetization call.
  • Your career is built on traditional SaaS product management with AI as a recent addition, not the core of what you've shipped.
  • You need a built-out team to be effective. This role starts as a solo builder.
  • You have no exposure to enterprise security or compliance requirements around AI in financial systems.
  • Your GTM background is limited to supporting sales calls or writing collateral, without owning pricing, packaging, or positioning decisions.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • brightfin offers a comprehensive health, dental and vision benefits package.
  • Paid time off. We strongly believe in work-life balance and taking time for yourself.
  • 401K with employer match
  • Salary Range: $200,000-240,000 OTE
