About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented, dependable Tool Crib Technician to support tooling operations for advanced aerospace aircraft testing on our Group 5 UAVs.
You'll run the tool crib day to day. That means issuing and receiving tools, keeping inventory accurate, and making sure production teams get the tools, equipment, and consumables they need on time. The right person is organized, works well with technicians and mechanics, and understands that tool control matters for safety and quality.
This role keeps production moving. It reduces downtime and keeps tools accounted for and compliant as manufacturing grows.
What You'll Do:
Tool Crib Operations
  • Issue and receive tools, equipment, and consumables. Record every transaction accurately in the tool tracking system.
  • Keep the tool crib clean, organized, and secure, with tools stored correctly and easy to find.
  • Inspect returned tools for damage, wear, or missing parts. Tag and set aside anything that needs repair or replacement.
  • Follow standard procedures for checking tools in and out, and for tool accountability.
  • Answer questions from technicians and production staff and help them find the right tools.
  • Tool Control & Inventory
  • Track hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment, specialized aerospace tooling, and production consumables.
  • Do routine cycle counts and inventory checks, and report any discrepancies to your supervisor.
  • Watch stock levels and flag items that are near reorder points so production isn't interrupted.
  • Receive, label, and put away incoming tools and supplies.
  • Follow up on overdue, lost, or misplaced tools.
  • Calibration, Quality & Compliance
  • Track calibration due dates. Pull expired or out-of-calibration tools from service.
  • Make sure calibrated tools are labeled correctly and their records are current.
  • Follow AS9100 and company quality procedures.
  • Support Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention through careful tool accountability.
  • Keep accurate records for internal audits and customer inspections.
  • Report tooling discrepancies and help Quality with investigations when asked.
  • Production Support
  • Work with production teams to prepare tools and kits for scheduled builds.
  • Tell your supervisor about tooling shortages or delays right away.
  • Help roll out barcode, RFID, or other digital tool tracking tools.
  • Suggest ways to improve tool crib organization and efficiency.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Tool crib experience in an aerospace, defense, aviation, automotive, or precision manufacturing facility.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality requirements.
  • Experience with FOD prevention and tool accountability programs.
  • Knowledge of calibrated tools, torque tools, or aircraft assembly equipment.
  • Experience with barcode or RFID tool tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with 5S or Lean practices.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or a similar ERP system.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of experience in a tool crib, warehouse, inventory, or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Comfortable using computers and inventory or tracking systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Clear communication and a customer-service mindset.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
