Technical Program Manager

Job description

In today's dynamic worksites, seamless collaboration between people and machines is essential. FORT's platform ensures safe, secure, and dynamic control that surpasses legacy systems and next-generation AI capabilities.

While autonomous machines offer significant advantages, they also introduce new safety challenges. FORT addresses these concerns by providing solutions such as the Wireless E-Stop, which allows operators to instantly stop any machine from a safe distance, enhancing safety during emergencies.

Additionally, FORT's Safe Remote Control enables operators to manage heavy machinery remotely, reducing the risk of accidents and improving visibility.

By ensuring communications integrity across any network, FORT empowers customers to protect their most valuable assets—people, data, and machines—ensuring they remain safe and secure.

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to drive execution across our product and engineering organizations. Reporting to the Director of Technical Program Management, you will own the end-to-end delivery of cross-functional initiatives: keeping programs and projects on track, risks visible, and teams aligned.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role at the intersection of Product and Engineering; perfect for someone who thrives in complexity, moves fast without losing rigor, and knows how to hold a program together across multiple teams. You will be a trusted partner to engineering leads and product managers, ensuring the right things get built the right way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the planning, execution, and delivery of assigned cross-functional programs through the entire lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain project and program roadmaps that give stakeholders clear visibility into priorities, dependencies, milestones, and risks.
  • Drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Sales through structured planning cycles, reviews, and release coordination.
  • Apply and contribute to FORT’s program management processes and tooling: keeping things lean, repeatable, and audit-ready.
  • Identify and proactively resolve blockers, dependencies, and resource constraints before they become delivery risks.
  • Partner with engineering leads and product managers to ensure customer commitments are scoped, tracked, and met.
  • Provide timely, accurate program status updates to teams, stakeholders, and leadership to enable faster, better-informed decisions.
  • Champion a culture of ownership, clarity, and continuous improvement within the programs you run.

Cultural Expectations

  • Accomplish the Impossible: Set ambitious delivery goals and create the structures that help teams achieve them even when the path isn’t obvious.
  • Own Your Priorities: Take accountability for program outcomes end-to-end, not just process compliance.
  • Build Together: Earn trust across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Operations and help those teams work as one.
  • Think Out Loud: Create visibility, communicate risks early, and make it safe for teams to surface problems before they become crises.
  • Deliver a Customer Experience Worthy of Loyalty: Understand that every program outcome has a customer on the other end and that our reputation for delivery is a competitive advantage.

Qualifications

  • 4 - 7 years of experience in product, program, or project management, ideally in a fast-moving hardware and/or software product environment.
  • Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional programs in robotics, autonomy, industrial tech, or similar environments strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with both Agile and stage-gate delivery methodologies, and the judgment to apply the right one in the right context.
  • Strong communicator able to translate technical complexity into clear, actionable stakeholder updates and hold teams accountable with clarity and respect.
  • Comfortable operating in a high-growth environment where priorities shift quickly, and ambiguity is the norm, not the exception.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical or regulated product development environments is a plus.

Preferred

  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, monday.com, or similar program management platforms.
  • Background working in a company scaling through internal growth and/or acquisitions, with awareness of process maturity and documentation standards.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus, but not required.
