What you will do

The Team Lead, Finance Operations (Service Team) splits their time between hands-on ownership of the most complex customer accounts and leading a small, relatively new US-based team of Finance Operations specialists that is expected to grow. This role acts as the day-to-day people lead and mentor for the team, setting priorities, coaching, and being the first point of escalation, while remaining an active individual contributor on complex contract adjustments, key account support, and quote-to-cash optimization. The role reports into the Manager, Finance Operations (Service Team), based in Belgium, and bridges senior IC-level operational expertise with emerging people leadership responsibility.

Where you will have impact

  • Team Leadership & Coaching: Lead and coach a team of 3 Finance Operations specialists, setting clear daily/weekly priorities and stepping in on operational work when the team needs extra hands. Conduct regular 1:1s focused on what each person is working on, what was delivered versus planned, and how to close any gaps.
  • Team Growth: Support onboarding of new team members as the team scales, act as a primary point of contact for new hires, and help identify development needs and growth opportunities for each team member.
  • Complex Customer Account Management: Personally own and manage a portfolio of the most complex customer accounts and subscriptions, ensuring accuracy and timely handling of escalations.
  • Sales Contract Processing & Contract Adjustments: Process complex sales contracts, deals, and contract adjustments in line with established guidelines, proactively communicating with Account Managers and customers.
  • Escalation Management: Act as the primary escalation point for complex or sensitive cases, both for the team's work and for the specialist accounts under direct ownership, driving resolution and communicating with all stakeholders.
  • Quality & Process Improvement: Conduct case reviews, maintain quality standards across the team's output, and continuously identify and document process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track team KPIs (e.g. adjustment accuracy, turnaround time, key account satisfaction) and translate results into concrete coaching points and improvement actions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication: Build strong working relationships with Sales, Sales Ops, and Account Management, and keep the Manager, Finance Operations informed on team performance, escalations, and process changes.

About our team

Lighthouse's Finance Operations function plays a critical role in supporting a fast-moving, global business with operational rigor and customer focus. The team sits close to the commercial engine of the company, helping ensure that contracts, subscriptions, invoicing, and account changes are handled with accuracy, consistency, and care.

What's in it for you?

  • Flexible time off: Autonomy to manage your work-life balance.
  • 401k matching: Up to 4%.
  • Health insurance: Two Blue Cross Blue Shield plans with 99% company contribution to the base plan and 75% for dependents and spouses, plus $25/month to HSA.
  • Vision and Dental Insurance: Dental Buy-up plan option, 50% company contributions to premiums for both employees, dependents and spouses for both.
  • Employee Assistance Program: 100% confidential and free.
  • Employer paid Short Term Disability + $50,000 Life Insurance
  • Parental leave: 12 weeks of company paid primary caregiver leave, 3 weeks of company paid secondary caregiver leave, $1,500 new parent bonus, and 4 week flexible return to work plan.
  • Wellbeing support: Subsidized ClassPass subscription.
  • Referral bonus: Earn rewards for bringing in new talent.

Who you are

  • 3+ years of experience in a Finance Operations, order-to-cash, or billing role, including direct experience with escalation management and complex accounts.
  • Prior experience mentoring, training, or informally leading others (formal people management experience is a plus, not a requirement).
  • Comfortable operating in a hybrid capacity, balancing hands-on operational ownership with team coaching and priority-setting.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership, with sound judgment on when to escalate versus resolve independently.
  • Data-driven mindset: able to track basic team KPIs and translate results into concrete coaching or process actions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize based on business impact, for both personal workload and team workload.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to proactively engage Account Managers, customers, and the Manager, Finance Operations.
  • Comfortable operating in a growing team environment, with flexibility as headcount and scope evolve.
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken; other languages used within the company network are a plus.
